Direct isn’t $40 a month, that’s before the BS fees. You have to get 2-3 extra receivers instead of one. Dish is almost always cheaper for the same programming package unless you get into bundles…

choice xtra + DVR is 39.99…
switched the title for you guys
Plus 10 for HD plus 2-3 additional fees for more boxes. $39.99 is for one SD tv.
^thanks link…
Shit… hmmm, ill have to call, with a 2 year agreement with dish its 50 a month… give or take…
Joe do you have a contract?
I dont remember if im in contract or not right now. I originally signed up no contract then signed one after to get $20 off for a year and two extra HD DVR’s.
Comcast triple play grand total…
1 HD DVR
unlimited phone
22mb internet
its going to run about 105 a month…
Do I need a box for every TV? if so they are 8-9 bucks a box…
You need a box for every TV you want to get all of the digital and movie channels on, and have the guide. TV’s without one will get like basic channel 2-70 stuff.
Cable FTW
Too bad you’re not in NY…LZ could totally hook you up.
Yea sucks for you Willybean
Comcast changed their name btw its now Xfinity
crap… ok so i called direct tv…
1 HD DVR
1 HD receiver
2 SD receivers
200 channels w/ speed vision… 51.99 + tax a month… (i think they give me a 100 or 200 dollar visa too)
Now how much is a damn phone line and internet going to run me? ugh, such a PITA this is… furniture comes on friday, i want to be able to watch tv then too. I’m tired of spending money btw
OPTION 2.

Why do you need a home phone?
Will, be careful with the prices…Sometimes they start off low, like a 6-month or one year promotion. Then they go up like $50/month. That Comcast package sounds like it’s just a promotion.
Yea, it is just a 1 year promotion… i dont need a home phone, but itd be nice to have… especially when I dont have unlimited cell minutes, and itd be used as mainly an office phone from home… we’ll see, im waiting for a new phone to come out, then i’ll switch my cell provider and everything.
Is it easier to take cabal or satellite? Not that I’m going to I’m just wondering.
I really never watch TV so I don’t want to spend money on it. Right now I’m using a digital antenna. I get about 25 channels which isn’t too bad. I’m paying $25 per month on internet and I don’t have or want a home phone.
Is my next best option Dish at $60 per month or so?
What do you mean easier to take?
you can pick up straight dish or cable for as low as 30 bucks a month… but not HD, no dvr, nothing special…
only reason I would never get dish network is the 2 year contract that has a $350 termination fee.
Some friend’s of mine had DTV, they moved in and got a basic SD dish, knowing that they were planning on getting an HDTV. When the guy came to install the HD dish a few months later, they discovered there were too many trees and HD wasn’t an option. $350 later, they have Time Warner Cable.
I just like the freedom of knowing if my circumstances change, I can get rid of what I have.
I would have spent the $350 knocking down the trees. I was reluctant to sign a contract at first but the Dish Network ETF was $12 per month you have remaining, and I knew for sure I’d be keeping it for at least a year, so :gotme:
cutting down trees is expensive, plus it was probably more than 1 and could have been neighbor’s trees as well.
I also had another friend who moved to a townhouse from his apt, and the HOA wouldn’t let them mount the dish (HOA owns outside of townhome in this case). I am not sure was the resolution was there.
I just think it’s BS to force people into a contract without being flexible.
