The C550 is a great looking plasma. I had the 50" model before I bought my C7000. I had issues with my 50"C550, but from what I’ve read with others the picture quality on the 58" is much better and is not plagued by some of the issues the 50" was.
Its an awesome looking TV without a doubt. You will not be dissapointed.
I would get the 550 and the PS3 if I was in your situation. That way you have a great blu ray player built in along with all the internet apps.
As odd as it is, even though the bigger models use the same plasma display panel, the bigger the tv, the better the pq and real world test results seem to be… not sure why
