who is out of a job here?

I wouldn’t mind a job right about now. Oh, you guys are talking employment

Work for collections. My hours increased. My incentives increased.

But this is the time to be in school.

Ive been out of work since december. the water sports industry is not to good this time of year.
tons of people on EI for the winter in this area (Parry Sound). its the way she goes.

i just got a job at home depot better then nothing and discounted bolts and nuts lol

Same pay for Drift

Slower for commercial real estate

What exactly do you do in the industry? I’ve got a cottage out on Little Otter Lake and we’re looking to buy another Sea-Doo to add to our collection lol.

whats a job? oh that place you go to make money! ya I havent been there since december… really need the cash now

anybody know of ANYWHERE thats in the durham region thats hiring?

if you guys are out of work you literally need to go to starbucks or tim hortons and pull some hours. show some humility.

i would totally do bitch-work while looking for a better job.

that totally matters in a job interview too… and not a fggt interview, i mean a real interview.

when you go for that interview for a job that matters they will want to know how you handled off periods of why you worked a shit job for X-months.

you tell them straight up… i didnt want to sit around holding out for the right opportunity so i worked steady to keep income and kept looking for ‘this’ position.

Gaps in resumes are bad.

We didnt hire a qualified guy because he just up a quit a job he didnt like, while having a mortgage and a family of 4, and was unemployed for several months looking for better work.

that shows volatility, poor decision making and its indicative of someone who doesnt have realistic priorities or a sense of decent workmanship…

I work at gordon bay marine in the retail store. mostly wakeboards and wakeskates etc…

we deal yamaha at gordonbay. i think we have about 50 or 60 wave runners for this season. theres also a couple used ones around aswell.

let me know if you are interested in a demo.

^^he’s right you know.
even though bitch work is undignifing you can’t just leave your family hanging.

very well writen bing.

I’m pretty sure I’ve been to that marina before, lonng time ago to get a selenoid for our boat… My cottage is pretty close to you.

ya chances are if you have a cottage in or near muskoka then you probably have been there. its about the 5th biggest marina in Canada. stored about 3000 boats this winter.

our clients have faaaaaat wallets. you would’nt believe who some of them are! kenny G lol

Nope, not getting a penny… =*( I am glad I still have a job… =D

I guess it sucks pretty much everywhere right now… I guess I should be lucky to still have a job…
I was in Europe the other week and it’s the same story there as well…
However, it does largely depend in which sector you work in. Finance and Manufacturing sectors are probably the worst right. This reminds me of 2000 when all the telecom companies sunk overnight… working anywhere in that field was horrible.

However, things did get better… question is, how long will people have to wait now until everything shifts and stabilizes again.

I personally think this is the best time to invest into the stock market, if you have some basic knowledge.

I invested about 8gs book value into the market and going to let it sit for a few years.

Financial markets will always go back up, and if it doesn’t the world would literally come to an end.

I believe we’ve seen somewhat of the bottom where the DJI touched 6500.

Just gotta do some DD into which stocks to invest into.

Everything is basically 90% off what it originally would go for in a healthy market. The financial industry will come back in a few years, guaranteed. Just a matter of time.

HSBC, Citi, even maybe AIG will go back up for sure. Just gotta wait it out.

^ Samson is right, any industry that has been hit hard is a good place to invest in now, I’m looking at picking up some real estate myself, houses are hella cheap now.

If you want to see a heafty return on investment, invest into hurting banks like Citi, BAC, HSBC etc etc and other financial institutions.

Buy oil and gold. Buy commodities. Pharama stocks are gonna boom soon as well, esp with stem cell research funding approved by OB. Toss 1grand in there and let it sit for a few years. The industry will grow 1000 fold over the next years for sure.

We’ll see oil go up again once the US sees some aftermath inflation. USD is inversely related to oil prices. Higher oil prices, lower USD.

Right now its basically about finding the hardest hit stocks and investing in them. Just gotta find the right ones that won’t go BK.

My brother’s pushing me into the Stock market, I’m leery of investing a substantial amount of cash right now.

Is anyone getting hired?

I just got a job, for minute maid (marketing) sales within durham region . Part-time , good money
