I think I have a spare bottome pull ratchet lid kicking around somewhere if you’re interested.
Probably a jockey lid too.
I have a 40 complete transmission as well, but I think I’m going to hang onto that.

When you’re in there you should add a mainshaft seal and an Oringed MDG spacer, it didn’t completely eliminate my 4sp leaks but they are drastically reduced.
@newman depending on what I find. If I find cases I’ll rebuild and do the seals and oringed MDG. If I find a complete unit I’ll just drop in and ride. My biggest oil leak besides the cracked trans is the generator. I’ll have to make a gasket for it. I finally resolved my shaking issue at least. I think I want to swap the front tire to a fat 18 rather than the skinny 21.
Or I’ll go toss that husky I have for sale on the road and enjoy the summer.
There are lots of ratchet 4 speeds that pop up complete online for about 700 bucks, but they’re usually cases with ears, would you be opposed to putting a midshaft case on there? Have to shim the front compensator nut a bit but at least you’d have some outboard bearing support.
Im not against it, time pending. I’ve been working a ton so I don’t get a ton of time to mess with the bike, let alone ride it. So if I got a drop in set up over the summer I’d rather do that, but if I don’t get to it until winter I have problem changing things up at that point. I haven’t had the bike out in 6 years, at this point I just want to ride. Lol

I ALMOST made it all the way from Eden to Buffalo this morning. Bike was running like a champ on the 219 and all of a sudden it felt odd. Pulled over and saw a smokescreen coming out of the breather tube that would have made James Bond envious. Lame. Got it to Target and saw the oil looked contaminated. Got it home via truck and thought I would throw the plate on the Trident, better ideas prevailed and I drove my boring car. Lame.
It’s an air cooled bike… i don’t understand the contamination?
