If you want to bet me $20,000 that Japan doesn’t exist, I’ll be happy to show you with proof
But what I’d really like is for a religious person to rip apart the OP article, because that would be more entertaining (but less profitable).

how do I know that the plane you take me there doesnt just fly around and then land in a different area of the U.S. , because I “believe” you are really flying to some “magical” land called Japan?
how can you prove to me that Japan is real? Tell me a story of how it was created? Tell me how the foundation of the society was created?
I can do this all day.
Really… That is dumb as fuck. I can call Japan and a Japanese guy will answer. I can pray to God, and well… Does he talk to you? If so you may want to check out a psych ward.
But see. The problem is, that these are not all ONLY religious issues. There are just as many people who do not have any religious background that disagree with said issues. You are taking a few small aspects of something and using them as a reason to hate it as a whole. I do not consider myself religious, yet I believe in God. I am a person of faith, in that I do believe in creation. I am not religious in that I do not actively attend church or religious worship services. Religion is man made. Having faith is not. Trust me. There are many things that have happened to me that made me question my beliefs. But then there are those extreme times when I should have died, or lost a limb, or some other catastrophic thing SHOULD have happened, yet against all odds I came out unscathed. When I was 6 I threw a horseshoe at a beer bottle and severely punctured my right eye with glass. The Dr had no intention of even attempting to save my eye, as it was a lost cause, but he said for some reason he just felt compelled to do so. He did not believe in god whatsoever, but he said during the surgery that it was like someone/something was guiding his hands and he couldn’t explain it. Not only did they save my eye, which had a large gaping hole through it, but I have near perfect vision in it (with the exception of a loss of depth perception). I am not saying that it was a miracle per se, but I have no idea how to explain how they were able to save my eye, nor could any of the surgeons that performed the surgery.
edit: I am not saying this is proof of God’s existance. I am just saying do not be so quick do dismiss what you do not understand.
He talks to George W. Bush. And Pat Robertson. check with them.
Are you fucking serious or are you just trolling? :poke:
No one can present a case against stem-cell research without invoking religion. They take unused embryos and harvest them instead of throwing them out. The only excuse that has ever been given is that it makes god mad.
just proving a point that what makes life, life. Beliefs.
Just because I do not see him or answers my prayers with a voice doesnt mean I dont believe in God.
belief: there is a cat on the other side of this window
proof of existence requires a frame of reference. There are many frames of reference that prove Japan exists, I just need to know which ones are acceptable to you.
Proof God doesn’t exist from the lolcats bible:
Reely beeg cheezburger
Ceiling Cat cans do anyfink, but cans he make a cheezburger so big that evn He cans not nom eet?!?!?!?!
If he cans not maik it, he cans not do evrythink, but if he cans, and then he cans not nom eet, he still cans not do evryfings!?!?!?! Oh noes!
So Ceiling Cat cans not be doing everythink, so He iz not bein reel.
Actually, early stem cell research used the aborted fetuses of humans to get said embryos did it not? Hence the major issue of stem cell research. It is not because of “God’s gon be pissed”. I do not agree with abortion, nor do I agree with harvesting stem cells from aborted fetuses, HOWEVER, they can get stem cells from umbilical cords, which I have no problem with at all.
I’m just gonna say it:
Religion, God and everything to do with it is a huge hoax used to control lesser minded people.
Hook, line and sinker.
It worked in the middle ages but I’ll be “damned” if I let myself or others I know be fooled by this crap.
But alas, to each their own, carry on practicing your little beliefs
<3
I’m gonna “pray” that Buffalo has a Tsunami, stay tuned for results!!
Wait, wat? The major issue of stem cell research is a misperception of where they come from?
the majority of stem cells research do come from umbilical cords
I like religion because it teaches morals. That is all.
On the subject of gay marriage, I believe that the govt should never have been involved with marriage, since it is a religious ceremony. I do realize that it is now controlled by the gov’t and defined a bit differently. So as such, I do believe that if gays want to become married, it’s not such a bad thing.
you can have morals without religion.
it should be a moral that you don’t have to make somebody up to prove your point.
Without religion, what difference does it make when life begins? It is funny that the same people that “hate” religion are the same people that seem to believe(without science) that life begins when a chid is born. Well unless of course you happen to be appointed by Obama and believe life begins as late as 2 years after being born.
I just find that religion is good way to teach them. That is all.
As a person of science, I don’t believe a lot of the bs that they try to teach, but I appreciate many of the stories that teach people to kind, to help others, not be selfish, and all the other moral/humane things.
Idunno, it is what you make of it. Some people here seem to think that every person that steps in a church is a brainwashed idiot. That is just not true.
It just sucks when you see tons of young people ruining their lives over drugs, dropping out of high school(drop-out rates are pretty horrendous these days), etc… Or how about the fact that the people here claiming that religion is stupid are the same ones talking about banging broads in the back seat of their parents cars with their parents driving. Where are the morals there? Just Karter thinks that making minimum wage is a better use of time than his education. I can keep going, but I know I am wasting my breathe. Sorry.
For the record, I haven’t been to a mass in YEARS, but I can appreciate the time I spent in sunday school learning about the teachings.
Religion isn’t a good way to teach morals because it only has one strictly defined set and if you disagree with any of them you’re wrong and going to hell. I’m all about moral relativism.
