… because of that little pin on the shift linkage that has to come out to pull the tranny and motor. If you have ever pulled a motor in a honda you know exactly what pin I am talking about. It is only about a inch long but for the sake of God this pin has the power to ruin your day. I am letting the damn thing soak in PB Blaster because after about an hour of pounding on it, it moved about a quarter of an inch and then I said enough for tonight.
From what I have been told a punch and PB blaster with a hammer is the best way to pound it out, anyone else you a different method?
When I dropped off my tranny to Don at Hybrid a few years ago he had a punch on the end of a air hammer, it took three seconds for him to get it off. Now I use a long bolt like jojo said it works great. I dont replace the bitch pin though, I use a nut and bolt to put it back together.
dirt cheap and will get it out in about 3 seconds. I modified one of my attachments specifically for the bitch pin. I’m think don had the baller one from snap-on for perfect fitment.
word…took me about 1 day to figure out what to use… but the trans/shift linkage was out from under the car… i used a 1/4" 2inch extension and a hammer and it popped right out
