Widest tire on Stock S13 SE Rim

Started this thread for two reasons:

  1. Because I searched and only found very shady answers so it’s just some knowledge that should be searchable and…

  2. I NEED TO KNOW!

I’m about to grab some Yokohama ES100s to give them a shot. Does anyone know if I can put anything wider than 205’s on stock S13 SE rims (7 spokes, you know the ones).

If anyone knows for absolute certain, please let me know. If you aren’t sure don’t say anything!

thanks in advance

You can put a 235 on there for all I care but would you really want to?

The Rim is only 6.5" wide that makes it 165.1 millimeters which means a
235 would be 69.9mm to wide resulting in a sidewall that bulges 34.95mm.

I would only go as large as a 205/60R15.

Correction Jantos. S13 wheels and S14 base wheels are 15x6.

S14 5-bolt wheels are 16x6.5

On the S13 wheel get 205/55 or 205/50. You can go 215+ but you may
experience side-wall.

As for the ES100. Well when I got my tires it was either them or Kumho
Ectsa 712. Looking at both they were pretty much the same with the ES
costing a little more.

If you want to save $ get the Kumho. Great tire. Decent in dry. Great in wet.

Or look into Toyos. Not sure which but I know they have some good nes.

That’s what I needed to know. Thanks for the info guys!!

i had a 215 60 on mine and it looked like a dump truck ( i liked it )

You would

Gonad:

205/50 is too small, especially if your car isnt lowered. Your speedo will be off by 4-5% or something.

I run 205/55.

i ran 225’s on the stock rims when i first had the car

i ran 205/55 and they looked alright, but I would not have not gone any larger.

Hell I did not want to go any larger then 225 on my 7’ wide rims

I’ve got 15x6 +30s from a s12 (meshies) on mine.

205/60/R15 up front
215/60/R15 on the back

I run 225/55-15 victoracers as track tires on stock teardrop wheels. Works great.
