Hmmm… Let me know when you guys are going.
^ that looks like a shit ton of fun. I would be down too
Honda is in the garage, rocking the pedo spare work van, gotta track down some snows for the caravan, gotta buy 2 rims to match the set I have for my primary work van and get those snow tires ordered, a lot to do still
What does it entail to make ‘screw tires’ on tubeless rubber?

There’s a bunch of different methods, haven’t decided 100% what I’m going to do.
With a fuck ton of tire sealer (like the off road guys use), is one method.

There’s also the bolt head method, and there are some other things out there (like one guy retrofitted snowmobile star track/studs onto a set of tires).
I figure with my engine setup, some extra traction for extra stupidity would be nice.
Ordered some 17"wheels to run for winter. With rebate, web discount, and lug kit they were $487 shipped. Another $550 for snows and I still come out ahead than buying snows for my stock 20’s.
In all ill have about $1050 for wheels and snows. Stock 20’s would have been at least $1100+. I also have access to free mount and balance.
400hp/400trq, AWD, locking rear, snows, and heated seats should make a fun ride.
Held out figuring this last snow wouldn’t stick to the roads in the Northtowns and was right. Now looking at the 10 day forecast I see nothing that would make me want my snows on through 11/23. Looks like I may go into Dec again this year before tossing the snows on.
Was thinking the same exact thing this morning as the wife was asking about when I would put her snows on. I may put hers on early as I don’t want to hear any complaining about getting caught in the snow and blah, blah, blah.
Definitely throwing mine on over Thanksgiving weekend, hopefully not have to rock them for more than 3 months tops.
I’m holding out till first real snow fall . Probably dec 1st I’ll take off my good wheels , raise the car and slap on my Goodyear ultra grips !!

Going to be in the mid to upper 60’s this weekend. Glad I’m not rolling around on my Blizzaks already.
With today being nice, I bumped the coilovers up, made sure everything else was winter ready. This will be full time winter mode.
Got around to making winter changes yesterday.
blizzak LM-60s on infiniti wheels. Thanks Mike.
rolling around on winter wheels already too. If we get a few dry days i might swap the rears for the summer tires. As any sprinted driving over 50* i lose grip.
Jesus. My pictures look terrible.
I’m putting the snows on Saturday. Next week has lots of highs in the low 30’s and lows in the mid 20’s so we’re just a southeast wind away from lake effect with those temps. Don’t feel like getting caught in the snow with summer high performance tires. If I had all seasons I’d probably wait longer.
Just got my Accord aligned, and had my studded snows mounted/balanced/installed…going to do front pads and rotors tonight, and it should be all ready to go…
