Wire tucking..

any1 got any good information on wire tucking??..i got a 95 gsr that i want to do…any1 know how to do it??..just want to know how you extend the wireing harness and what not just awhole bunch of stuff…

It’s not difficult at all…how extreme of a tuck do you want to do? There are things you can move and hide without extending things. Doing any of it will be useless is you still have ABS, PS, cruise, and AC…since none of them can be moved without extending and rerouting.

honda-tech.com

I hid all of my headlight harness. I ran them through the fenders and back into the bay under the battery tray and under the master cylinder. Engine harness is easy too. Just take all of the brackets off, pull the loom off of the harness, and you don’t have to extend anything. Just reroute.

Are you planning on hiding the fuse box, battery, etc?

yea i wanna move fuse box to under dash and the battery to trunk…

i searched honda tech and i juss fond ppl describing in pictures wat their doing not what they needed like ithought u needed to extend the harness but i guess not cuz every1 i saw on ht used two harnesses…

imma get rid of abs and power steering…i got a kid i need the ac in the good ole gsr 4 door haha

its so easy , if you would like i would deff. help ya do it on a weekend

hell yea that be sweet…i wanna do wild bu not like extremely wild.juss move fuse box…prolly move harness jss down low…put headlight wire sthrew fenders,i was thinking bout relocating the fuel filter also down below…

what do i need to buy if anyting yodude?? i would really appreciate your help i got a heated garage and a hoist haha id let you use it for anything if you help me! hha i know the basicas but i need guidence…what did you do one on?..any pics>?

need some zip ties, some spare automotive wire, electrical tape, heat-shrink wrap, soldering iron… not much else

i got all that except the automotive wire haha…i guess im ready!

I had the original intention of hiding everything, but that idea wore out quick. Originally I was going to move the fuse box under my airbag tray, battery in front bumper, fuel filter under intake manifold, etc. etc. etc.

I’m probably still going to move the fuse box, but I’m putting in a braille battery in the oem location. I just need room for a catch can. Right now it’s too crammed. The headlight harnesses make a decent improvement.

Keep in mind that you should arrange everything you move in a place that is easy to access…the last thing you want to do is troubleshoot electrical gremlins when your harness is somewhere impossible to get to.

Exactly. My headlight harnesses are simple to get to. Pull the fender with a 10mm.

Do yourself a favor too…minimize splices. Lessens the chance of problems.

wire tucking is an art… after you start, you really cant stop! Once your down to things that cant be moved, like brake booster/master, then creating new sexy brake lines n stuff… thats when it gets serious

yea im already addictied!..imma remount my fuel filter down below on the fire wall…hide the headlights wires…imma take out abs i didnt have it in my old hatch so imma not use it in my db8…imma put the fuse box in glove carparntment…

the harnness imma juss reroute to a real low spot…

i really need to do one too sometime soon. im gonna put the battery in the trunk and just do the basics for now to clean it up

like gearhead said once you start messing with the brake lines and stuff then it gets tricky but well worth it

good luck
