Um, why would you be getting a weekend membership if you have one already to renew?
Yeah I guess it doesn’t really matter lol nevermind
this’ll be my first event ever…nervous as well. i have this recurring feeling that i’m going to get lost while out on the course…
you probably will…but who cares!!! It’s only cones. I gaurentee you will still have a blast and wonder exactly why you were so nervous when it’s over. (and you’ll probably be pissed you didn’t try it sooner)
Everyone I talk to is always like “I’ll come by and watch an event, then try it”
THERE IS NO REASON TO DO THIS. BRING YOUR CAR AND RUN. WE WILL HELP YOU OUT. We are not going to be yelling/laughing at you because you don’t know what you’re doing. This is the perfect learning environment. Stop thinking about it, and just try it.
+1
The guys are awesome and it will be more likely for the experts trying to shave .1 seconds off their times to mess up than for the beginners who are there to try it out and are nervous about it. Excellent experience, and I try and get all my friends who are into cars to come out for an event or two.
Plus I’ve missed a gate once in the season where I ran on nearly every event, make sure you do a few walk arounds and know what the cones all mean and you’ll do fine.
On another note, did we ever find out what’s going on as far as construction at ECC North / where we are running sunday?
We’re running at ECC-N with a 15-20% smaller course. Basically we lose the turnaround near Wherle. It is what it is since WNY doesn’t have any other local sites to use with the loss of NCCC. Thank you insane neighbor with your 80’s camcorder.
In the past course design at ECC-N had a large emphasis placed on getting two cars safely on course at the same time because of the 90-100+ registered cars. With the lower turnouts last year and only 53 pre-regs for event 1 this year having one car on course at a time isn’t as big an issue and should give the course designers some more room to be creative with the limited space.
If it’s cloudy with a slight chance of rain like they’re calling for Sunday turnout could easily be in the low 40’s with only 53 pre-regs. It’s pretty easy to get 5 runs even with one car on course at a time with that kind of turnout.
Okay, thank you.
No more rain in the NOAA forcast so it will be a great day to autocross. Even if you didn’t prereg you can still show up before 9am and register the day of the event.
Hmm maybe I’ll some out and shoot some photos.

I hope everyone had a good time. I had a blast with the course. I could have done without the huge spin…
damn jim, quick!
lets not forget the losing your side skirt either
i think thats my highest pax finish, guess thats what happens when i actually have my car setup for the class it is in.
Well, I had my highest finish as well. Even with losing the side skirt. +1 on being setup for your class.
i had an amazing time today, was pumped to break into the 40 second range my first time out. learned the limits of my car, and learned how to hustle it around a tight course. sure am thankful for the LSD. thanks to Mike in the black GTI that helped me out. can’t wait til next event.
is the person with the m coupe on here? i seen you taking vid…like to see it!
Not a fan of that course. No good speed sections and not much rythm. I left after 3 runs and my work.
i liked it. the straight run right before the optional slalom right before the hairpin at the far end of the course was fun, topped out 2nd gear right there.
I was surprised by the course. I didn’t think it would be as challenging, or fast. My brakes did not like it.
And the guy with the M works with me, but isn’t on the board. I’ll see if I can get video for you.
surprisingly, my brakes were fine. the tires were scrubbing badly though, i need stickier rubber. kinda makes me glad that i didn’t install my 300zx calipers in time for the event.
My brakes would normally be fine, but I wasn’t getting any vacuum for the brake booster…too much boost maybe…
Nice event  I thought the course was great for ECC. Losing the end of the lot to construction hardly mattered, because that’s always the slowest part of the course anyway
