I just think there are too many damn evo’s and sti’s around here not to have some healthy STU competition. It’s such a competitive and interesting class elsewhere. Why not here?
A few years ago, STU cars were lacking. Now maybe a few of us can get it started. That’s all I’m trying to do. If there’s no interest then there’s no interest. I’ll just try and fight for some consistant PAX rankings, or if I get bored enough I’ll move into SM on street tires :lol:
Im not sure why stu isn’t big around here. There is a very strong subaru ‘tuner’ community here, but they don’t seem to come out to autocrosses, and the few that do are modded past the rules of STU. Part of the problem is getting the wrong wheel size kicks you out of the class

I think it has more to do with messing with the boost pushing people into SM.
And also, in the grand scheme of things, the tire to have for STU is the Yok Advans which are just as much as R Comp tires
The most responsive mod to the subaru is the downpipe, unfortunately that throws you right into sm.
well i still have cats… and it is a stock cat back. Just the downpipe has changed. Maybe stu is the place for me too. SM is just way way out of my league.
in ST classes, you are allowed to replace you cat with a high flow, and remove multiple cats. So as long as you have at least one, you are fine.
Accessport -> stu map for race day, flash when done.
