would you stop?

if you hit a dog that you already stoped for; but ran in front of you again when the car started to move again?

i know i sure would but some one must of thought they didnt kill it because they kept moving again. i witnessed this first hand today and it being my own dog.

you wouldnt believe what got into me after this happend. i am soo aggrevated right now that someone would just take off after hitting someones family pet. i just spent the last 15mins looking for a car i know i would not find but i still had a ounce of hope that just maybe i would find it.

uggghhhh /rant.

Shitty.

dont give up man, id idnt think i was going to find my wifes truck but I did. Did u get a plate ot anything?

all i got was was a green green mustang v6 99-04 or before they started to make the throw back looking ones

i can’t help it

what was your dog doing out in the road in the first place

he got out why else would he be in the road.

you must have not of really thought too much when you made that post did you?

I would definitely stop.

If someone did that to my dog and I caught him I would go to jail for attempted murder.

thats a rare color option. i know of two in the buffalo area. one parks at transit and walden and the other is a female student at UB who has family and frieds in west seneca

Very shitty. My condolences. :frowning: I hope you somehow catch them, and get them to face whatever the legal system does for such an offense.

wait…did your dog die?

o-rly my house is right near ub.

Sorry to hear Kevin, It’s shitty that they took off. RIP.

I remember about a year and a half ago driving down a back road a cat came out from the side and hit the side/rear tire of my parents Trailblazer. I stopped and the cat was dead. There was only 3 houses in the area and it was like 2am but I got the balls up to go up to the door to wake anyone up.

Luckily it was the first house and the guy wasn’t asleep but he was very appreciative that I stopped after hitting his cat instead of driving off. I still remember that cats name, Thumper… poor little guy.

Also Kev, it wasn’t that retarded green Mustang with the unpainted body kit 2 houses down was it?

The law will do nothing. Every town/city around here have lesh (sp?) laws. The street is no place for a pet. It doesn’t matter if the pet escaped its yard or not. The owner can be held responsible for the damages to the vehicle if there are any. I learned this first hand a couple years ago.

Sorry to hear about your dog.

im pretty sure a weiner dog did no damange to the car. and i said it wasn’t going too fast, and yes there is nothing i can but make the person feel really shitty for hitting someones family pet.

No.

And to whomever said there is no law, thats incorrect. Well, for Amherst there might not be. The town I lived in if you hit an animal and took off and were caught doing so it resulted in a $500 fine which if you didn’t pay resulted in a suspensded license.

But I believe that was a town specific law.

if your not going to be responsible and control your pets then this is what happens. you killed this dog…the car was just your weapon of choice. so stop focusing your anger on the driver of the car and take some responsibility for your actions.

If your loose animal gets into the road and I hit it, I hope you have your insurance information ready because any damages to my vehicle you’ll be paying for.

^ haha ruthless.

did I miss where you said if the dog died or not? I’m assuming from the second sentence in the first post that he did, but i’m unclear.

either way, fucking gay. I’d lose it if I witnessed that. Even if it wasn’t my dog.

shrug The whole front end of my car is fiberglass and lighting with some pretty elaborate duct work. Many hours + lots of $$$ why should I have to pay for your stupidity in your animal coming out in the road where it does not belong? I qualify it in the same category as say you’re driving a work truck and a ladder falls off and hits my car, or you didnt torque your lugs and your wheel comes off and hits my car. Your fuck up, your insurance, my shit getting fixed at your cost. Yeah it may be a “mistake” but try using that as an excuse when you rear end someone or you get a ticket for going 12 over because you werent paying attention. Mistakes happen, people pay for them, I get my shit fixed.
