Wrap or Paint for Winter?

Hello all, my new car is in need of paint and i WILL be winter driving the car. Wondering what will hold up better to prevent rusting? I don’t want to paint the car and see it rusting after winter and I am not too sure if the wrap will prevent rusting or if it will make it worse. Any thoughts and experience would be nice.

Thanks

I have the roof wrapped on my dodge magnum, and have winter driven it for the past 2 years with no lifting. Rusting happens mostly from water and salt getting into openings around wheel wells and door trim and getting trapped. So the wrap won’t prevent rust or make it worse because it stops at the edge of the body panels anyways. If anything, it prevents you from seeing the rust forming until its a little more serious.

true, but if i were to be wrapping the car I was thinking of doing the door jams as well and making sure i wrap completely around each corner. would just hate to paint it and see rust pop out around the edges…

Cold-galvanizing compound is pretty good, if you just want to coat hard to reach places, it’s basically spray on zinc that can be removed easily
