Dish Network will not have any Sabres hockey games, and they dropped FX too. I called to complain about it and they basically told me oh well. I quoted out Direct TV for the same thing I have now (4 TVs, HBO, HD, DVR) $77/mo for 12mo then $105/mo for the next 12. I am paying $95/mo for Dish without any contract obligations and they will not give any incentives to stay with them!
then switch. profit?
Yeah that shit sucks. And I thought TW was bad.
I’m forced to stick with Dish though cause they have all the Middle Eastern channels we watch.
Dish was always awesome about giving me promotions to stay with them. Then this summer when FIOS launched in my hood they didn’t want to offer me jack shit. They’re getting super jewish for some reason. So I switched.
Dish Network - shit happens when you go cheap.
I switched to DirecTV.
I will say I had no complaints at all about the service when I had it, their boxes are def the best and I’d still have them if they were willing to meet my pricing
These disputes happen. Did we all forget about Time Warner dropping CBS during Bills season last year? Don’t act like this is just a dish network issue. I’m glad I have fios but I’m not going to be naive about it and act like they won’t ever drop a channel I want because of contract issues.
They all suck, I have direct and it blows donkey balls. The installer (a board member on here) fucked up with my dish placement, he didn’t run the cables correctly, fucked up my floors, etc etc. They won’t fix the dish placement, the picture goes out whenever theres a cloud in the sky, it’s just crappy. I’ll be switching when my contract is up for sure, but none of the other options are appealing.
I wouldn’t be too concerned about it. It’ll get fixed soon. They are still in contract talks and Dish has requested that the FCC intervene and recommend a fair price. Not the 50% increase that FOX is asking for. The major holdup right now is some stupid MSG music channel that Dish doesn’t want.
And yeah, Dish has gotten really bad with customer retention again. They were awesome for about two years and now don’t want to give anything again. It all stems from the upper management at Dish. The owner is still Charlie but the people under him have changed. I guess he felt they were giving away too much.
If anyone has problems with their Dish Network not working properly, feel free to PM me and I’ll help you out. A couple guys on here can vouch for my work.
You obviously don’t know what your talking about or have never had the service. Dish’s equipment is the best according to many users and Consumer Reports. And I’m not talking about a one year thing. Their HD-DVR has led the industry for only the past 5 years.
Yes their prices are cheaper than others and as far as programming goes, DTV lost Versus for pretty much the entire season last year, and TW has lost NFL Network amongst other channels and continue rate hike after rate hike.
eh, fios has never wronged me, nor anyone i know. Both the dish companies have, frequently. I’ll stick with my fios.
Sounds like my Dish Network experience. The guy who was supposed to do the install told me I’d have to cut down a huge tree and put the dishes right next to my deck, delayed me 2 weeks, and luckily I didn’t cut down that tree because the second guy who came out said the first guy was an idiot. They put them by the road. Then I start to have major issues, and the 4th guy they sent out said the 3rd guy was notoriously lazy, and because he didn’t install them properly the wind moved them, so they had to be fixed. Everyone blames someone else. The call to tech support about that issue made me want to punch babies. That dish is like a fucking weatherman, damned if that thing can’t predict any little storm rolling in. At least when my service craps out I know to go close the windows before it rains. I feel lucky that 2/3 TVs work. I never thought I’d miss TW, too bad they’re not even available out here.
I hate my dish because everytime it’s nasty out when I would want to watch tv the most, it doesn’t work! FUUUUUUU
I’m thinking cable next, but I dont know…
Obviously I do since I just purchased a house and I needed to decide on what company/provider I want to use. After a month of calling and researching, best bang for the buck and reliability is FIOS. Plus, the incentives I received for joining FIOS was awesome too.
You now have an excuse to get back into the bar scene.
I switched from Dish Network to FIOS and Dish Network’s DVR was far superior to the garbage motorola box FIOS uses. I really wanted FIOS internet though and the only way to make it affordable was to bundle. I still miss Dish, except for the dropouts during really bad weather. With your dish aimed properly though dropouts were pretty rare.
We didnt really have a problem with Dish Network till this whole not getting the Sabres games, it’s time to switch. Time Warner or Direct TV?
Dish Network is still negotiating. They haven’t walked away from the table. Service could be restored in as few as a couple days. Call dish network and ask for some money off your bill for the inconvenience. They’ll do it and offer you a few extra channels for free as well.
If you do switch, do fios or direct. TW TV is the worst.
if your interested in getting fios pm me im a sales rep for verizon fios i can hook u up with some promos you cant get signing up on your own
