WTFIND: a somewhat "real job"

23/hr for 1 hour doesn’t offset the hours that you make base like 5/hour.

Don’t try to rely on other people for health insurance, you’ll figure that you will be at a loss when you get cut loose. I mean, i guess you can milk it for all you can now, but just be ready when one day you break yourself and you don’t have health insurance and you get footed with a 15K bill.

I’m in need of a second surgery on my back… and I can’t wait until i get health insurance to do so…

there is no way i can afford it now

GO TO SCHOOL. Even if it’s a few classes. Shit, I’m starting out with only two classes, because I fucking don’t want to go to school at all, but I know to go anywhere in life, and not sell cigs for the rest of my life, I have to do it. I mean, it’s not THAT bad. OMG maybe we can be in the same classes and I’ll do your homework. haha.

I totally agree with Howie. I went to school for early childhood education and became a preschool teacher…hardly made enough to live and I worked at one of the highest paying preschools in the area…along came a lawyer in need of an assistant. He liked that everytime he saw me I was professionally dressed and that I was friendly and outgoing. I told him I had no experience with legal matters. He said as long as I was willing to learn he would hire me. So now I get paid decent, full health insurance, paid vacations/sick days…he gives us 12 days off for holidays, I can come and go as I please as long as I get my work done, etc. So all that money I paid for my education degree…worthless. It is all about who you know and what kind of personality you have. Good luck Jam. I hope something falls into your lap like it did mine  If you hate school…you won’t go and then you will waste your money

Yeah, you might get one good job if you’re lucky by knowing someone and being in the right place at the right time. It’s not all about who you know. It helps to have connections and people that can open doors, but that can only take you so far. To make yourself marketable and successful long term you need qualifications and credentials, including education and degrees. GO TO SCHOOL.

The simple answer to this question is, MOVE OUT OF BUFFALO. You will definately be able to find a higher paying/better job.

ha! never in a million years. i love this area for so many diffrent reasons.

and you’ll be back soon…

He’s right though. There are far better paying jobs down south and out west than here. Even if you consider cost of living increases elsewhere, it’s still more lucrative to move. It’s not for everyone but believe it.

go out west and work at a coal refinery, you can make some good money w/o a degree

labor intensive but it pays,
