Having recently driven one, I agree, they are really terrific.
The Subaru (which was more expensive) has bigger body panel gaps, interior plastic so hard that could scratch diamonds, speaker cones of paper and more rattles than I can count on both our fingers and toes. It truly is built like crap. Reliability is there, but comfort is not.
If you absolutely need 4 doors then ignore this comment. You should test drive a Cooper S. You’ll fit.
Are there any plans to build a quad door S? or like a Clubman S?
yeah if my BFF who is 6’6" and 300lbs can daily drive one you will be just fine.

The Countryman S came out recently which is a 4 door with the same motor as the current Cooper S. I didn’t mention it though because it doesn’t really compare to the other hot hatches he’s comparing.

WRX, I switched from a speed 3
But it doesn’t have an interior as awesome as my fggt euro car:jerkit::jerkit::jerkit::jerkit::jerkit: I’ll take a lesser interior over a pile of shit VW with a better interior that is subject to water pump failures taking out the whole engine. Call me crazy but a nice interior isn’t going to get me from point A to B when the car it is in is a pile of shit.

I had my mind set on a WRX last year but then I drove one …a chassis from another time.
It seems everyone is leaving Subaru behind on refinement. Except Toyota… so you might like them!
Looking forward to hearing about your test drive of the Speed3. Then come over and drive mine and see what a few easy mods can do to them. 
if you buy a german car buy it in warranty and dont chip it
if you buy a wrx/speed 3 etc it might not be as nice fit/finish/ride quality but you can mod away without worrying about td1
I really had no complaints about my Speed3. Finish and fit are nice in my opinion. Some people hate the red dotted interior, but I never noticed. Too busy enjoying driving.
My only complaint is a kinda blah like dash and stuff. I have the nav but it doesn’t have somethings like auto locking doors when you start moving. Ride was nice when it was stock my coils and sways ruined that haha.
