so what your saying is…
a 911 GT1 Porsche isnt a supercar, because it is based off of a regular 911??
BTW 7 pages :bigthumb:

what you just explained is an exotic
…well that and the rest of it…like the aluminum platform, brakes, etc
a vette is a sports car, a mustang is a pony car, a gto(60’s, not the new fagort one) is a muscle car. None of these, or any flavor of these will ever be supercars or exotics. Supercars and exotics are in a different world.
ok… a Viper, is it a sportscar?? or a supercar???
its comparable to a Z06…
a Ford GT, and a 06 Z06, both run the 1/4 in 11.7, and both 0-60 in 3.6
in my opinion you guys are getting too caught up in the ‘name’. for the performance the new Z puts out, i cant see how it isnt considered a supercar…is it an exotic? no not really, but if its not a supercar then i cant see how you can call a 911 turbo, viper, f430 supercars when thats the cars in its performance catagory…its just cause its a ‘vette’ so it cant be considered one, even though its as good or better…doesnt make much sense to me
couldnt put it any better myself.
from wiki, there ya go, wiki knows all.
A supercar is a term used for a sports car, typically an exotic or rare one, whose performance is highly superior to its contemporary sports cars. The proper application of this term is subjective and disputed, especially among enthusiasts. In addition, the use of the term is dependent on the era; a vehicle that is considered to be a supercar at one time may not retain its superiority in the future. Nonetheless, the automotive press frequently calls new exotic cars “supercars”.

cool list but there is absolutely nothing “exotic” about a z06 or a camaro. I don’t care if it runs an 8 flat, it’s not an exotic or supercar.
well that sure would suck to have a Camaro ZL1. i guess those guys all need to go shave their fender emblem off…since it says ZL1 Supercar right on it:doh: :ugh2:
you can polish a turd till it’s shiny, but it’s still a turd.
a camaro is a pony car, nothing more. a camaro will never be a supercar.

agree to disagree
haha, well i know im not gonna be able to convince you, just stating my view

If someone said “hey, come look at my new supercar I just bought” and showed me a camaro, I would kick them in the nuts.
I would say that many Lingenfelters are supercars, and all Henessey Vipers are.
Vettes just seem too common to be a supercar, despite the insane performance. Look at the Evo 9s performance.
This is my dream car and my #1 favorite car!
