Your LB/HP Thread.

Let’s see who’s got what going on, it could get quite interesting. :ninja

List stock for your car.

Then calculate out what you have going on now based on estimated or dyno’d numbers, so we can see how much you improved.

If you have any weight reduction, add it to the equation.

Here is the link to Acura/Honda weights that I found

Project Underdog.
http://www.rspeed.org/forums/gallery/data/549/medium/scca231.jpg
Power 108 hp (flywheel) Weight 2138
LB/HP Stock = 19.79

Since it’s not finished, but I know exactly how much power I want and how much it’s stripped ill use those numbers.
Power 420hp (wheel) Weight 2050
Target LB/HP = 4.8

Just for fun ill throw in the bikes.

Weigth 372, power 120.
LB/HP Stock = 3.1 (no rider)

And for additional fun here are some other numbers from factory cars.

Ferrari Enzo = 4.5

Goal

Weight: 3500 HP: 500 (Crank)

Ratio: 7.0

Vr4’s get hit hard.

You got 300 pound reduction? :wow

Crank? Shit.

Stock
3,750LBS/320CHP = 11.7

Current
3,750LBS/775CHP (620AWHP) = 4.8

Stock Ratio: 14.3:1

Target: 400bhp, 2600 lbs
Target Ratio: 6.5:1

For me, peak horsepower is less important than area under the curve… and square footage under my wheelwells.

8.7 :frowning:

Going to preach how NA > FI now?

Yes.

I’m faster now NA with less horsepower than I was with more HP and a blower. Explain that. ;D

You were too much of a pussy to put your foot down with the blower onboard.

LOL!

I’d love to see JClark drive my pig of a car. I think it would make him cry: heavy and FI. Horrible combo for him.

stock 04 sti…
weight 3384lb
hp 300
11.28lb/hp

weight 3384
estimated crank hp (with racegas) after completion 528

6.41lb/hp

No it’s because I was shifting all over the place since my redline dropped by 1000 revs.

And when your coolant temp spikes to 250-something you’ll lift too. :lol

Heavy and FI make for a sweet daily driver. We should switch cars for a day!

What car? :runaway

Stock:
3400lbs, 250hp.
13.6 lb/hp

End goal:
3350lbs (lighter wheels, lighter suspension bits, lighter flywheel) and 550chp
6.1 lb/hp

You pick:
1)E36 M3 track whore stripped and loud as hell inside
2)E36 M3 stock except for cams/intake/headers/exhaust
3)99 Expedition, really needs 24s and several dvd screens.
4)Schwinn, 18spd

All of which are slower than your car in a straight line. ;D

As it should for most. Peak numbers are for magazine reading and internet bragging/arguing.

My numbers don’t look like anything spectacular on paper but the ride is truly a fun one.

Ratio using wheel #'s

357 rwhp
2950 lbs (full tank)
8.26

Ratio using estimated crank #'s (est 15% loss)

420 hp
2950 lbs
7.02

Now the area under the curve is what makes things interesting (along with a short wheelbase). Torque comes on early with over 370lb-ft at 2400rpms (rear wheels), and stays flat till peak which is 372 lb-ft at rear wheels. Convert this estimating a 15% loss and we’ve got 435-437 lb-ft above 2400rpms.

Could I make this number more impressive on paper with better flowing heads and a more aggressive cam? Sure could. Do I need it? Nope. The car has more power and torque available than it needs just about everywhere. JClark’s been for a short ride, he was giggling like a little girl.

#2. Near stock looking/clean setup/tasteful mods/all the features that came with the car: radio/comfy seats/etc… A beautiful M3 is not something you should strip. Go strip some piece of shit Honda that you can buy for $56.43.

And then get a motor for it for $13.85 more ;D

Anyway back on topic.

All the supercar have WHP numbers in contrast to their weight, all reg cars have CHP, so if you’d like list both.

The stock seats are definitely not comfy!

:haha :haha :haha :haha :haha Tehehehehehe

Well your car is just ridiculous and is an exception to every rule possible. :wow

Still impressive numbers.

:highjack2 no more.

More LB/HP stats, so far some good examples. I thought 3000gt’s would get hit harder then they did, but they make more then enough power to make up for it.
