Your LB/HP Thread.

My daily driver

1999 Civic HX
115 hp (crank)
2440 lbs est (never actually put this car on scale)

21.21 :tong

Might be better if I removed the subwoofer, amp, and egay strut braces,

stock (using ratings, I didnt dyno my truck :lol)

HP-239 TQ-278
curb weight- 4,290lbs

17.9 lbs/hp

now
HP-239
weight after adding armor (full skids, steel bumper, sliders),big tires, winch, tools-around 5,000lbs
20.9 lbs/hp

;D ;D

Its got pretty low gearing, so it moves alright :ninja

disagree, losing some weight in an e36 is exponential to the fun factor of the car

This from the guy that took maybe 150lbs off his car. 2400lb widebody race car will rock you in your happy place.

Mine or yours?

I keep the stock passenger seat in for the wifey since she likes the heated seats. But if it were up to me I’d drop 60lbs off and throw my other Recaro PP in.

I will say that I was surprised at how comfortable the Recaro was once I installed it…then I was kicking myself for waiting so long to make the switch.

I mean mine in the DD for Shawn. The stock Vaders are NOT comfortable.

And don’t they weigh about 170lbs each :lol

That’s ridiculous. It’s a BMW. It’s a LUXURY car. But, it’s your car so do what you want.

You need to rock the leather seats.

My luxury car has fewer luxuries than my Honda

-No A/C
-No ABS
-No traction control
-No cruise control

It’s quite loud to ride in, the ride is pretty harsh, there is gear chatter from the ltw flywheel… ;D

AC, ABS, AWS, AWD, 12-way leather power seats w/ lumbar, digital climate control, 600AWHP+ etc… Yea for 91 technology!

I’ll take the luxury then strip a car down. That’s just me tho.

I’m not 64 years old, so I’ll take going fast instead of being comfortable. ;D

BMWs are luxury cars, they are race cars weighed down with lots of comfort garbage. Remove it, and have fun.

I’m not knocking modern technology (or early 90’s technology…gotta love the NSX), but for the most part, modern cars are fcking pigs.

My goal with my car was to make my own version of a modern day AC Cobra (powerful short wheelbase roadster). And to some extent it is luxurious when compared to a cobra…I’ve got wipers, I’ve got a top I can put up (although it is a manual top), I’ve got a radio, I’ve got a heater, defroster…the list goes on and on ;D

:crackup

Sounds like an R32 Skyline right there.

Don’t you ever compare my car to a R32!

Everyone has their own goals. I can appreciate the person who wants a stripped out car for AutoX. For me, I will probably only want a car with boltons that retains majority of the original car’s functionality. No lips/body kits or anything like that. It needs to look/feel/seem like it’s original self as much as possible. That’s just how I like things. Everyone is diff.

I wouldn’t consider an E36 M3 a ‘luxury’ car at all, aside from leather, heated power seats, an on board computer, sunroof, tool kit, full size spare, tri-color stiching in steering wheel, oil life indicator lights…hmm

eff that sheet metal fabric and sunroof delete are whats up :rofl

not to mention you can easily get 150-200lbs out of the rear of these cars which pushes the weight balance from slightly favoring the rear (49/51) to damn near neutral.

completely transforms the character of the car, and aside from the sound of every little thing the tires pick up hitting the wheel well sheet metal, i effin love it.

oh, and dont get me wrong, i get sick of it after a while, but when i do i just throw the rear seats back in and youd never know all the carpet/sound deadening was gone, and it takes all of a minute or two

A BMW M3 isn’t a luxury car? Someone needs to tell BMW marketing team then.

:lol
