I personally like the RX8’s styling A LOT. Probably more than the FD3S RX7’s for some reason. I like a lot of the cars styling of today. Yes, they’re heavier, and some are more powerful, but as others have said, OBDII and several other standards that are now federally regulated have made many cars suffer from a performance and tuning standpoint. Here’s some of my
observations about cars and some of the posts made:
-Better Honda’s in the 1990’s? Are you fucking nuts? Yea, if you’re looking to build a fast car strictly because of the lack of OBDII, but I think cars like the S2000 are fucking fantastic in terms of a performance vs. reliability standpoint. The newer NSX’s look incredible as well. The chassis’ in all of the vehicles are a lot better, partially because of all that shit you guys don’t care for in a performance car that focus on driver safety. More safety beams = stiffer chassis in most cases.
-Better STi’s/EVO’s in the 1990’s? Again, you’re nuts. Yes, the cars were quicker in some aspects stock, but they didn’t have nearly the performance capibilites and the engineering has improved. Especially in the chassis. There’s a reason you don’t see many of those cars still competing in any road racing series or time attack events, and that’s because the over engineering in the newer cars IS in fact better.
That’s all for now.

In all seriousness, I think the few of us that aren’t sniffing glue and have some mental issues can agree that for the most parts, cars are BETTER today than in the 90s. Technology should have helped in that regard. Styling is an opinion and not a matter of fact like power/fuel consumption/safety.
In all seriousness, the usdm 240s may be the biggest disappointment ever. Want to talk about pieces of shit, they should have never bothered sending us such watered down wastes of scrap metal in stock form. Everyone that knows me knows if a s15 spec r were available here I’d have one ATM. Nissan really fucked up bad there.

as for this thread personally all i see in my brain are Zs. z32 > z33…when the z32 came out it top of its class with innovations like hicas and sup hicas, on the go adj suspension and such and Nissan then pops out the z33 in 2003 and its a big fail in my book. The first z car ever to have less power then the model before. no t-tops for the first time in 20 yrs, no turbo model for the first time in 20 yrs and all around performance stats that aren’t all that hair raising

The Z32 is a great car, but the Z33 overall handles and performs much better.
I kinda agree, the stock USDM 240sx is way under powered. IMO everything else about them is nice though.
Before I bought my current 240sx, I was planning on buying a TT 300zx, but I couldn’t pass up the deal I got on the 240.
If only they had reliability…
corvettes may be technically supercars, but when I think of supercar I think of ferrari, lamborghini, porshe ect. ect. corvettes are great and I love them but I dont know if they can be called a supercar.
