40 thousand dollars...

If, $40K isn’t a lot of money, why is 99% of the cars on the street a bunch of shitboxes? There is a big difference between having the ability to come up with $40K and afford $40K.

fair enough, I thought the 4.2 v8 had alot more aftermarket support but after a quick check on apr
's website it’s just minor stuff like exhaust, chip, intake.

No one said 40K wasn’t a large sum of cash? Though the difference between 100K and 40K is rather large, like 2.5x more, large.

+1

There are people on the streets driving cars that they are struggling just to make payments on…
And millionaires driving around in 3 year old Camrys.

But to your point, I think most (younger) people who have just around $40k sitting in the bank… Wouldn’t blow it on a car anyways. The fact they have $40k in the bank in the first place- comes from not blowing money on this type of $hit… Haha.

Catch-22 but for the most part I think it’s true…

The ones dreaming up how to “afford” $40k- well now that’s a different story…

LS1 WS6 Trans Am and use the rest of the money to add F/I and supporting mods.

Either that or a used C6 Z06.

I got that impressiom from this post:

Correct. I thought this was a completely hypothetical thread. But even so, it lacks any considerations such as: is this a selfish expense (really opening up ideas) or would people take practicality into consideration. Maybe that’s the point?

$100K just seems to open up a lot more choices but most seem to say the same shit.

Yep.

Alright Alright you got me their =X Hahah.

I take back what I said previously.

I would take some kind of Porsche.

the cleanest lowest millage stock mkiv supra tt 6spd hardtop i could find.

I know what you mean, but I wasn’t saying do all the mods I said right off the bat, that was over the period of owning the car. When I said it’s not “that much money”, I meant for an overall total of what’s into the car including the value of the car after owning it for 5, 10, 15 years. Know what I mean?

Same general idea: 2 seater with power potential that can be a street car and a track whore, then be able to turn into a 100% devoted track car after settling down and having to get a sedan/SUV/whatever.

S2000 has power potential? Didn’t you also say your car is a highway monster? Opinions vary.

easy boy, hes young yet. hahah

Part A: Yes :tong . Part B: ::slight_smile: :lol For the 100,000,000th time, I said it is quick on the highway compared to how much it sucks from a dig/stop.

does that thing have a 2jz in it?

Doesn’t sound like a 2jigga

A vid from da g00gle.

Anyhow, you add a turbo/blower to a s2000 and make like 30RWHP. :lol

Built F20 = $$$$$
Throwing a turbo on a high compression engine is a no no unless you lower the compression and build the motor.

It was just an example of a video. I’ll probably be getting a Z anyways, no need to get super picky and start bringing out specs and shit.

I could have said that but you already got my point.

there are MANY S2Ks on S2ki.com and other S2K websites running 400+ WHP with either a SC or a turbo with nothing at all done to the internals of the engine. Though to get much higher than 400WHP you will need a thicker HG to drop compression slightly. Course the rest of the drivetrain isn’t so robust… Differential comes to mind… but thats not the topic of this discussion.
