Maybe I can sell it back, and just do it this way.
i’ve seen that done to a skidsteer before. it was fucking awesome.

So I shouldn’t use that method on these HRE’s?
I kinda want to try that now.
X…
cliff notes?
if it is using fire to set the bead on a tire… i can show you how.
bad ass
I wish I knew about that back in HS, changing truck/tractor/ect tires in vocational with 2 crowbars and 3 people was a royal pain in the ass
That’s an old Dakar rally trick.

Thank you! I knew I’ve seen that somewhere in the past, but couldn’t remember where.
wow… so much cheaper than mounting. does it balance too?
I’m pretty sure thats basically the same thing the icelandic offroad guys did in the north pole winter special they did.

Considering HRE’s are dogshit, definitely
Thats how i used to mount tractor tires for people when they brought um into firestone when i worked there. They’d be too small for the machine so i took some intake cleaner shit we had and threw a match.
It’s an easy way to set the bead, but it doesnt make getting the tire over the rim any easier.
Offroad guys use this all the time to re-seat tires that fall off.
Do it that way all the time @ my dads shop for semi tires. Well, using compressed air and a big valve, but it’s all the same principle. Very good trick to know.
