yes!!! thats why i dont understand why people are bitching, they were the bottem ones that never move, and were cut off with a cut off wheel, i was more or less asking if it was a good idea to just torch the backs to lower it but i guess not so ill just do the same as the fronts

FYI INACTIVE COILS WERE CUT, ITS MY CAR, ILL DO WHAT I WISH, THE CAR DRIVES,HANDLES FINE, ALIGNMENT IS ALSO STILL SET PERFECTLY
SO IF NO ONE LIKES IT OR ISNT GOING OT JUST ANSWER MY QUESTION ON TORCHING IT STFU

I’ve spray painted the interior on my eclipse…and I got destroyed. I’ve learned not to do stupid shit to cars, and especially not post it on here. So with saying that…you sir are a dumbass.

Hey NYSpeed experts:bloated:, I too cut an inactive coil off my lowerings springs on my SHO and have been driving on them like this for over 40k miles no with no noticeable driving and handling characteristics. I plan to do the same treatment to the lowering springs on my dad’s 55’ Chevy. Inactive coils are simply that, inactive. Do any of you people have hard proof to back up your claims that this is such a big deal? Heating coils to lower a car has been around longer then people on this site have been alive, and done in moderation can be an effective method.

I don’t know if comparing elderly drivers is the best comparison…but I’d venture to guess that cutting an inactive coil would be safer than say, overpowering the chassis on a car like MANY people out there have done.

Examples:

*Fox bodied Mustangs with 500rwhp and stock 11" front discs/rear drums
*turbo Civic hatches running 150mph+
*People who get kicked out at the track for going to fast without cages.
*All the cars on the road that can’t pass NYS inspection
