Bad bike accident on the 400N near Transit.

I wonder what the rider of the bike that went down will be charged with, Manslaughter?

In a perfect world no. I think that people should be held responsible for their own actions. Sorry about your girl’s friend Joe. Shit like this bugs me a lot. I get picked on for driving/riding like a grandpa when I have people in my car or on a bike. Well…this is exactly why. I don’t care if I get messed up or killed, I just don’t want to take a innocent person with me.

It sounds like the truck cut them off pretty damn close. Either that or they flew up SUPER fast after he merged over. IMO there won’t be enough clear fault to charge the bike driver with something like manslaughter based on the story I heard

This! Especially when you just meet the operator.

Its sad that the glam that comes along with bikes is like a magnet to the sweet bros and douchebags of the world. I think this is the reason so many sport bike riders end up in this situation. You take the arrogant invincible personality and put them on a death trap and the result is a situation like this. Maybe its just because 95% of the riders I know are questionable personalities or downright idiots, but I cant say I know too many “intelligent bikers.”

Thats not an attack on everyone who rides (especially on here), where in all reality, just being on a forum or speaking of the cautions, is evidence enough that there are people who take the right measures to minimize the risk of riding, and truly enjoy the motorsport aspect of the hobby. Unfortunately most of you guys on here would appear to be the lesser percentage of riders.

Ricer LED’s and neons all over his bike, not surprised this happened. I bet he bitched about “cagers” all the time too.

Probably reckless endangerment. To tag on a manslaughter would need hard proof that he was racing and speeding which caused her death. Depends on the story of the witnesses, where they were when they saw them, and the story of the truck driver if he even saw them before they crashed into his truck.

Does anyone know his current health status? Is he going to fully recover from this? (physically)

Same story, year after year. :meh:

Sorry to hear Joe, hope your lady friend will be ok… that’s a shock.

Joe Ayer,29 from cheektowaga. Treated and released so looks like he’s gonna be fine.

Pretty bold statement for not knowing anyone involved. I love how people think it’s “cool” to make these statements from behind a computer and have zero respect for anyone. It just makes you look like a classless idiot in my opinion.

While I agree with you, I think that add-ons like LEDs and helmet mohawks appeal to a certain personality type… which is also the personality type more likely to do dumb shit.

Too bad your Girlfriend drives like an insane person!!!

I have to agree here. I tag these people as the ones that feel the need to wear there icon jacket everywhere and carry thier helmet around.

I agree with you on that. However, dumb comments like the ones above do no good for anybody, including the person posting them. I understand this is a forum and it is public, but do any of you actually want to read that type of stuff?

The arguement that people who do dumb shit are usually the ones who die doesn’t work here since a passenger was killed. You don’t see bikers doing wheelies into peoples cars and killing the drivers, it is usally cars killing people. Bikers do have a right to bitch about “cagers” more than people driving cars can complain about bikes. GENERALLY SPEAKING, bikes don’t kill people, the people controling them do.

Whats the going age for motorcycle accidents caused by the rider and not someone elses actions? Do we have a way to figure this out?

The man and woman on the other motorcycle stopped after the crash and told police how fast they were going. Police wouldn’t release the speed to News 4. Baker said, “It was over 65.”

Is it too early at 5 years old to start teaching my daughter that getting on the back of a bike with anyone is a horrible life choice? I feel so bad for those parents.

No. Someday I’ll have kids and I’ll teach them the same thing.

I rode my friends bike once a few years ago. First time out, and first time ever on a bike, I pretty much went wot to ~150 because I didn’t realize how fast they picked up speed. While it was a huge adrenaline rush, I knew my lack of self control sometimes would only end bad. Never rode a bike since
