Isn’t Exedy the eBay clutch?
Did somebody say clutch?
Southbend FTW!
no? :confused
Not sure about your application but for the Cobalts/Redlines I have not heard a single bad thing about Exedy clutches. Check on some 240 forums and see what they have to say.
they same the same as me just about
going rb25, so should put me 250 stock? ( greddy intake mani, intake, FMIC, new 3in exhaust, couple more goodies)
clutchnet 6 puck ez lock here. i’m new to pucked clutches so i gotta get used to it but its not bad drivabilty, deffinaty takes time to get used to though.
Not to be a dick but a lot of 4 cylinders don’t make much torque so why the 6 pucks?
130hp, 260tq. 4cyl Turbo diesel.
stock turbo.
260TQ isn’t much but you know what I meant.
I got 6 cylinders and I just didn’t want it to slip
260 tq on stock turbo
will be 200hp/400tq thats why its pucked
400lb ft is alot.
I just made a general statement.
Why will it be 400? Again, I was just referring to the typical 4 cylinder.
it will be 400 because it will (eventually) have an 11mm injection pump, bigger injector nozzles, bigger VNT turbo. people with these setups are putting down around 215 hp with around 390-410 lb ft of torque.
Aright so my next question is Best clutch for daily driving. changed thread title
i dont had some hard ass cltuch i do 60+ miles a day
That’s great but that’s one example.
Typically, they don’t make torque so I don’t understand how these cars need 6 pucks.
Try to stay with a full face that can hold the torque. Of course, sometimes you have limited choices like an iron disc.
oh i know, figure i’d tell ya not all 4 cyl make no tq.
Jeff look into DXD clutches… its what im goign with, their good clutches…
You dont need a pucked clutch espeicaly if your going to be driving the car a lot. I love steves Sky40, the clutch feels great, its smooth and grips hard… but for daily driving, seriously youll kill your knee or the clutch or both very fast. My g20 had a 3 puck in it, was absoloutely horrible for street driving(worse than yours steve), in stop n go traffic the clutch only lasted about 2 weeks. Get the “stage” clutch from the manufacturer that supports your torque needs. I’m going with a DXD Stage 4 clutch, they have 5 stagtes, all Disc’s , not pucks but there made out of various materials depending on the clutch you get.
Spec clutches have a stiff pedal at least in Lsx powered cars they do. They will hold pretty much what ever you throw at them and Nick has never had a southbend fail on him either.
