Being bikeless this year after having ridden the last 2, I am almost questioning whether I should get back in the saddle again or not next year. We lost 2 guys in completely different situations just before Memorial Day here in Syracuse. I probably will ride again, it’s just hard to see guys lose their lives this way. RIP to the riders and all those affected by this.

Rip guys i do believe i have ridden with both. Lets learn from their mistakes, i tone it down some every year from these unfortunate events.
How easy it is to/ frequency of people dieing. I don’t believe I am old nor responsible enough to get a bike :shrug:
If you were doing something grossly illegal with that person who died, and that illegal activity directly resulted in their death, then yes, shut the hell up around the police. This isn’t some unsolved mystery murder case. They ran from the cops, crashed, and died. If you saw some critical piece of evidence and feel you should share it with the investigation fine, just do it through an attorney who can explain exactly how to share that story without admitting guilt.
Or “man up” and just go talk to the cops without representation “because someone died” and have years to think about what a great moral victory it was for you while you sit in jail like neon guy. Because that is EXACTLY what he did. He felt terrible, explained exactly how the crash happened, and got tossed in jail for it.
Enough people threw their lives away on bad decisions last night. Having buddies get jammed up with the law isn’t going to bring anyone back.

The only thing I have to add…are some of you guys seriously blaming the cops for this accident? From the interview on news 4 tonight, it sounded like the attitude was that the cops shouldn’t have attempted to pull them over at all and that’s the reason they crashed. Hopefully someone can fill me in because that definitely didn’t add up for me.

Channel 7 at 11 said nothing about a police chase.
If they wee speeding, breaking the law, the cop was doing his job. So if anyone is speeding or breaking the lwa, how is the police to stop the vehchal and write a citation, ticket oor arrest. The cop was simply doing his job.
Yes this is sad to see people dead, But now way is the cops fualt.
