So yea… saturday night I was driving my girlfriend home and was at the signal of southpark and ridge. To make a long story short I was under the light to turn left, looked clear, started turning untill my girlfriend screamed out there was a car coming. Stomped on my brakes and looked to the right to see headlights bearing down on me. Knew what was gonna happen and wasnt enough time to stop it. The guy didnt even slow down and it was obvious he was speeding when he spun my car around 180 degrees and ent it about 20-30 feet in the opposite direction. Car was totally obliterated in the front passenger side. They needed to use the jaws of life to get my g/f out. I walked out about a minute after the accident happened and I had woken my g/f up (its a scary feeling when you get in an accident and look over to find your g/f not moving with her head hanging to the side- luckily she was just knocked out). The guy was issued a citation, not sure for what yet, the insurance company is giving me a run around about how it may be my fault (I understand the reasons I just think its Bullshit) and its just been a mess. It drives me nuts to think If I wouldnt have stopped in time he woulda creamed my passenger door and well yea… both airbags went off which I think was the life saver here. Im not an idiot and I wouldnt pull out in front of somebody… this guy ahd to be moving REALLY fast to move my car the way he did, his bumper was connected to my car and ripped off his car. I never saw him till I started turning and it was too late. Not sure yet if drugs or alcohol were involved. I was told he was coming from a prom or wedding or something. Both me and my g/f were cleared from the hospital that night, shes a little more rough then me I just have a stiff neck. But yea, the bimmer seriously looks like it went through hell and back and I think that may be part of the reason Im typing this up today. Ill post some pictures soon and type more as I remember it… and to everyone please think about these things as you approach signals, I know Im gonna be alot more cautious in the future. Guess its only natural after something like this happens…
Same thing happened to me in Florida driving my dad’s car, in which I was making the left hand turn and the guy that hit me was speeding. There was a median with overgrown brush and you could not see the oncoming traffic around the corner, so the insurance company didn’t blame either of us.
I went back a week later and all of the brush was cut down.

the only thing that matters here is your both still here. Glad you and your gf are ok. Accidents are scary no doubt. Find out if alcohol or drugs were involved. If so, seek a lawyer. If he was coming from prom or some gathering, I am sure drinking was involved.

I dont understand how it would be the other drivers fault if you were making a left, he would have the right of way correct? Did he run a red light or something? Sounds scary anyway, glad no one got seriously injured.
If there was some sort of influence involved, and police have proof of this, then your not that bad off. Otherwise it sounds like your fault regardless of him speeding? I’m guessing.

219 was a semi that rolled over with haz mat on scene…matt’s bimmer is really smoked, i got picts on my phone but idk how to post it…and he was under the light which turned red so the other guy should have stopped anyway…(cop said there was no sign the guy tried to stop) they are both super lucky and good thing it was his BMW and not her escort because i have a feeling it would have been way worse…the only thing that matters is that they are ok though!
