Do you guys hate it when.... *Rant*

When people are interested in buying something (especially a used car), and then they say someting like “So what’s the lowest price you can give me?”

And they say that without even coming to take a look at the car…

Like, what are you supposed to say?

Because I’ve given them a lowest price and I still got lowballed.

Anyone experience the same thing?

just say no.

people who say that are not interested in buying, they just want to know the price.

in all honesty, i ask this sometimes, but not on stuff i am 100% commited to buy. It’s only for things i would buy if they were super cheap. So in essence, dont take it that seriously.

on the flip side, some people are just that bad at negotiating that they have to resort to that line right off the bat.

I usually Hang up when they say that.

I’ve learned that usually, that question before actaully seeing the car or making an offer is a sign of a tire kicker.

I guess they just wanna see how desperate you are to get rid of the car.

price it a little higher than u want to actually sell it for and that way when they ask for the lowest price be give them the actual price and they’ll feal like they brought u down on the price.

lowball me and il send a lowball so hard u wont get up

ahahah

Less QQ more telling people to fuck off.

QQ?

haha btw, not sure if someone on SON sent me this on purpose but I just got this email like 10 mins ago.

"From: brad_w04@hotmail.com
hey whats the lowest price you can give me ? please let me know and if u have anymore pics please send brad_w04@hotmail.com thank u verymuch
"

This is regarding my Hyundai for sale that I put up in Kijiji.ca

What should I say to him?

Tell him to fuck off. If he doesn’t have (place wanted sum here) then he doesn’t get the car.

QQ = Internet term for crying, guess it looks like two eyes with tears, don’t ask me. I’m surprised I had to explain that lol

haha wow, I’m an internet newb then. It’s funny because I just posted a new price for the car and he comes and asks for an even lower price.

Just give them some bs super low price. Then when they come out and look at the car, say you’ve had too many offers and the price went up. That way you can waste his time too, and likely his gas money…

That is an absolutely great idea.

Seconded

Maybe he is just being reasonable, when I go to look at a car with serious intent - I rarely ever pay what the asking price is. Not because I am a lowballer, but often because the car was upsold to me in the ad as being “mint” or in “perfect working order” and I get there and suddenly the car has 12-15 different flaws/imperfections and was “upsold” to me before I seen it in person.

Maybe the guy is coming from further away and doesn’t want to get there and find out some surprises?

Either way - Its insulting I find to get lowballed or asked for a lower price before the item is viewed. I’m less offended if someone asks if the price is negotiable.

Note after looking at the Kijiji ad myself I’d say that car is worth your price, hell I’m even considering it.

Jowo, I don’t mean to be rude but maybe you didn’t read this part:

“And they say that without even coming to take a look at the car…”

That is the part that really makes me angry. Anyways, I ended up selling the car last night.

I say that a lot because I can’t negotiate for shit. You tell me what’s the lowest you’ll take, and then if I’m willing to pay it, I come by, if not, I don’t. That way I don’t waste my time going to look at stuff for more money than I want to pay, or insult anyone by lowballing them.

This is true when your buying parts, but for a car, you have to see it before you buy it. No one wants to invest into something as big as a car without seeing exactly what their getting.

Yeah, it’s like buying a house and without even knowing anything about it and going to see it, you say “Hey what’s the lowest price you can give me?”

At least he isnt one of those craigslist/kijiji asians that offers 5 dollars when your asking 500.

no offense to anyone.
