Dummy in a Camaro causes wreck on 90

Not on a large highway like the 90. If you’re in the left lane, most of the time you have the median, and a whole other side of pavement to your left which to watch out for, and on the right you would have one lane, a and the shoulder then woods… So being in the left lane would help you to see something coming and give you an extra second to react. You’re right a lot of people react wrong and do the brake and swerve thing. Being in the left lane has helped me in the past as far as reacting to deer.

If I was that truck driver I’d be beyond pissed at both of them!

if you cruise at a solid 73 mph in the left lane and people occasionally come up on you going faster than that and you move over thats fine with me if you wanna cruise in the left lane all day long

These double standards are killing me inside.

if you are in the left lane and are not passing, no matter what speed you are going, you are part of the problem and you deserve to be dragged out of your car, bound, and shot in the back of your head on the side of the road.

Kind of making me lose hope in the automotive community after seeing how many people even on this site think it’s ok to just stay in the left lane because they’re too fucking lazy to change lanes. If we can’t even get enthusiasts to be decent drivers what chance is there for the general population?

After seeing the video, i am suprised how little damage there was to each vehicle. I even called the camaro driver a pussy as we went by for not driving it home.

He is still a pussy in my mind.

Well, he’s definately an asshole…

dicks fuck pussies, but they also fuck assholes.

This.

IDK… I think if you’re diligent about being aware of what is happening behind you, cruising in the LH lane isn’t a sin. If you move over before causing someone to adjust their speed, it’s not the end of the world.

What’s MUCH more frustrating is people who don’t use cruise control, or otherwise maintain speed on the freeway.

Yep. I’m always checking my mirrors. It’s 100x more unsafe to constantly be weaving in and out of the left lane, especially when you are going 10-15mph more than the people in the right lane. It’s all about having a nice space cushion around you. I typically drive about 50,000 miles a year.

Sorry but if there are cars about 100 or 200 feet apart I am not going to switch lanes 30 times on the 400 or 219 if no one is behind me. Continually switching lanes when NO ONE is behind you seems like more of a danger than just staying steady in your current lane. Furthermore, the right lane on 219 seems to be much more bumpy than the left lane a lot of times.

I don’t think anyone is talking about switching when cars are that close, or when no one is behind you. It’s the mooks that don’t get over when there is 1/2 mile of clear road ahead, and there is someone behind them.

If someone has to pass you on the right(when there’s no one in front of you), you’re in the wrong lane.

Ive been guilty of slowing down people driving like Dbags in the left lane, probably not for as long as this guy did but I think it is warranted sometimes. Although i always wonder after if they actually had an emergency going on.

That’s fine, but don’t be that asshole I CONSTANTLY catch up to on the 219 and end up passing on right right because he had a mile of open road in front of him and still couldn’t be bothered to move out of the fast lane.

I get it, if you’re passing someone and there’s another car you’re obviously going to catch up to not that far ahead stay in the left lane assuming there’s no one right behind you. When that car is a 1/2 mile ahead get over though. And please, enough with the “it’s more dangerous to keep changing lanes”. If you can’t handle switching from one lane to the other on a highway when the cars are spaced out enough that you should be getting back in the right lane you shouldn’t be driving.

I’ll never try and hold someone up who I think is going too fast. In fact, I’ll gladly let them by, give them 1000’ or so lead, then match their speed with the cruise control and let them run radar blocker for me. When they get nailed for speeding I’ll even give them a little roadrunner “beep beep” as I go by.

I know that guy, but when I catch him and move to the right lane so does he. Why didn’t you move over 20 seconds ago as I was closing in on you?!?

I didn’t say switching lanes was very dangerous just more dangerous. If you don’t switch lanes there is about 0% chance you will crash.

I feel like most people automatically switch into the “this guy is going too fast and I’m not moving to let him speed” mode. I think it’s just human nature. Maybe it’s a jealousy thing? If I can’t speed, neither can you type of thing…

This guy in the truck is the perfect example. I would probably would have slowed down and just let this guy in the camaro move in to the lane. Homesexual undertone in 3,2,1…I’d rather be behind him than in front of him, especially since he’s drunk. It’s human nature to want to be in front, lead the pack, etc…but just let them go by. Too many people with too much dignity and pride to do that though…

People who deputize themselves as the speed police anger me.

" I am going 10 over, this guy doesn’t need to go any faster." So let me get this straight you want to decide how much more I can break the law than you?
