haha who cares, macs like everything apple are overpriced. they had the hayday back for graphics designers used them, but not anymore…more and more using pcs. 
at UB, macs are becoming ever more popular. Im sure that trend is going on elsewhere as well. i do not foresee sales dropping anytime soon either. people who say their hardware is crappy, back it up or gtfo.

Is there anything different about Mac hardware anymore? Aside from OS and packaging, aren’t they the same as any other computer?

half of the people buying macs are doing it cause its trendy. I agree its a good solid OS but it is not a better peice of hardware.

I did not create this thread for any other reason than the fact that I found it interesting. I personally would never have thought that the Apple would have won in the speed shootout, especially running Vista.
It’s funny how anyone even mentions the word apple around this place, everyone comes out swinging… bitter?

Thats the point… noone is arguing that fact. Its the same mistake everyone made when bashing the iphone… they look at non-factors like the feature list, or the battery being unremovable.
The target market really doesn’t care about that, and its been proven.
Apple succeeds not because their products are trendy, but because they have managed to break out of the mold and create beautiful products, along with sexy, intuitive interfaces that make peoples lives easier.
People love to use their products, and with the popularity of the iphone and ipod, people are really starting to take notice.
82+% of people who own an iphone are “extremely satisfied” with it. Guess where the next highest satisfaction rate for any other phone lies?

Apple makes some decent stuff, but their business practices make me sick.
edit: for example, I really do love my iPhone… it’s an amazing little piece of gadgetry. But the fact that Apple wants to control every little bit of software that can be installed pisses me off. Not to mention that if I want a ringtone, for a song I already own… I have to pay them 0.99 to do it. Fuck them…
like I said, I love my phone, but it will be the last piece of apple hardware I own. Windows mobile phone (or linux) FTW
