Careful planning, that’s how. Like I said, I can build you a notebook that can run Leapord faster than your Mac can. What’s the point?
Who in their right mind is going to buy Apple’s overpriced hardware and run Vista straight on it? Nobody.
You show me those numbers in a real world MAC scenario (i.e. you are running Vista on your emulator/virtual window) like everyone else with a Mac, then I’ll be impressed.
Otherwise

They are just running Vista with Bootcamp afaik… Isn’t that what most people are doing?
I guess I don’t understand your point… Do you not find it both surprising and impressive that out of all of the tested non-homemade notebooks, the apple is the fastest? The argument here was never about if someone here could build a faster machine themselves (which hasn’t been proven either)… but perhaps we got sidetracked.
Personally speed has nothing to do with the reasons I like Apple… nor do I think it is one of their key marketing objectives.
And for the record, I do not feel any of their machines are overpriced. My 24" imac with upgrades and a printer was well under $2k, which I consider a steal.
Lets compare the cost of Leopard vs the cost of Vista if we want to discuss some insane overpricing.
