ive tried hammering on smaller sockets, ive tried heating it up, but alas, the lug nut is still holding its ground.

ive thought of this, but i do not want to trailor the car the long distance to do it.

please, no jokes or stupid remarks in this thread. thankyou.

hammer a socket onto the stripped lug and then break it loose. when your done put the socket and lug in a vice and then pound the lug out of the socket. worked for me.

the lug was originally a 17mm, now that it is stripped i cannot find a socket that is just right, the 5/8th’s is still too small.

if all else fails just snap the one stud off and use 1 less lugnut or replace it with a new stud

how do you expect me to snap the stud off? the aluminum rim leaves no room for this. please explain.

small hammer? cut it with a angle or die grinder

this is basically the rim. not much clearance between it and the lugs.

ooo i see

find a stripped nut extractor socket. Its a hardened material with teeth on the inside.
Many good mechanic shops will have these tools available. Harbor Freight might have something cheap.

you may be able to find a nut splitter where you can use the chisel end with a hammer to break that nut in half.

I would wait till gets dark and COLD. You can freeze the nut further with a inverted can of “Air-Duster”. The colder the material the more brittle and more susceptible it becomes to cracking

is this for an e30 or a vw or something?

I drilled the stud when I had to get a locking lug off that I had no key for.

i do not have these, and i do not have extra loot for it at the moment, but i need to fix it asap, has flat tire.

i would also go with the weld idea has worked 4 me before

there is one other option. Drill it. Pick a bit that is the size of the stud… doesnt need to be any bigger.

You can drill the stud to where the nut will fall off.
You can then pop a new stud in.

Those are your options… money or not.
