hahahaha
that sucks… but i say ppg… for obvious reasons
rebuild… but knowing you you’ll get the dogbox
+1 also for what bing said. but I still had to vote for the dogbox, i love them, but knowing you won’t keep it for long, rebuild to stock and move on.
If the dogbox had a sequential shifter then yeah. (which the answer is no)
But otherwise just steal a brand new STi, part it out, profit, & win.
Newman,
for $200 a month, direct deposit into my US bank account, i will allow you to outsource all of your financially centered decisions over to me.
chance are you will earn a tidy savings off this arrangement.
Also, for a small system access fee and an additional $50 per month + travel expenses i will dress up like you, take your ID and go into the dealer an take care of this issue.
I gaurantee that i walk out with the tranny warrantied and a nice 08 STI to drive around in for a week…
lol, if any of you knew the trouble christian went through to get his last suburu warrentied which was completely stock, then you would understand why warrenty isnt realy an option here. I voted dogbox but im starting to think it might be a bit too much. however 2-3 more money shifts or whatever would have paid for a dogbox so idk. get the stock beefed up rebuild. probably cryotreated gears and carbon syncros.
Wheres option d. learn how to rebuild your own tranny??
Or take extra precautions to not toss it in reverse. Live and learn.
can dealerships really afford to deny borderline warranty claims?
especially from a multiple buyer?
write the company… that is preposterous.
the dealership should be calling you up afterwards to make sure you are happy with the car… i get random calls from the dealer i bought my wife’s car from and i expect to be treated like royalty when there is an issue with the car… otherwise i’ll go buy something else next time.
Isn’t downshifting with a dog ring transsmission tricky?
he had to pull / kick teeth to get them to warranty an engine.
do it again… frig…
these fags dont lose money on it, they just make less profit.
negotiate to do it at an off time, late week or something iono.
If this was your only modded car i say go for the dog box but since you have another car that should be faster id say save money on this one and spend it on the bmw or even just bank it.

That could get annoying real fast just driving around town…
I’m a sucker for gear whine and clutch less shifting. Just go all out.
you really dont want a dog cut tranny for street driving. as baddas as they are. Its over kill unless its a race only vehicle. I would rebuild the stocker with some stronger internals. the Stock STI tranny can handle a ton of abuse. Unless you are driving around at wot banging through gears the dog box isnt going to be easy to drive.
rebuild the stocker. save the cash for the bimmer + win.
lol, he had to get a lawyer to get them to cover it. I dont know how the dealerships in canada are but there nothing like what you think here. Every car that either my wife or I have owned, whenever having issues such as check engine lights or whatever, they try to blame you for missed oil changes unless you can come up with receipts proving you did them or other bullshit service intervals like injector cleaning. lol
Dealerships are extremely shady, but ive heard of people without these problems so idk.
If you want, give me (Anthony) a shout tommrow at northtown, i’ll see what kind of deal i can cut you on a tranny, and i’m relatively sure you can get internals for that tranny or at least they’re in my lookup.
The answer is sometimes yes. If for some reason the dealer decides to warranty his tranny, which they will not i’ve seen northtown turn away alot more for fewer modifcations, and subaru takes one loook at the tranny and if anything looks fishy they bounce the claim and the dealership is stuck with the cost.
