FREE Track Time and Class! Anyone interested?

Sounds great.

From everything I see so far, the three ramp model trailers can fit 3 dirt bikes on there, but not street bikes. I’m looking into it further, but there are plenty of cheaper 2 bike alternatives on Clist.

So I’ll keep that in mind as well.

I forgot exactly, but I think it is around $35/day (with an online coupon) and it came with 500 free miles per rental, which should cover the whole trip. So around $35/day for 3 days + fuel.

Not bad at all, I’ll throw in a third of that assuming we can get all three bikes in.

Have you looked into lodging any further? If not I can book something for all of us.

Anyone of you are AAA member? Cause I am not.

Just checked Red Roof Inn Loudon (10mins away from the track), they have room on 20th. Only $58 a night if you are AAA member.

Yep I am.

Any contact info? I’ll reserve it on Tuesday.

Got a better dealing using a generic online coupon than AAA anyway. :thumb

Do they charge extra for a 3rd person? or they don’t really care how many are staying in the room?

If not, $52 is really good splitting it 3 ways.

I’m not sure if they care per se, but I didn’t ask either.

Third person was indeed more expensive.

I’m sure I can still change it if there is an issue at hand, but I do not forsee any serious issues with that aspect of it. Worst comes to worst I’ll sleep in the truck for all I care.

I’ve slept in wierd places before :vlad

Don’t think it will be an issue either and sleeping in the truck is not good; Need to get some good rest for the day. I am sure the stamina needed for doing a bike track day is different than driving.

Most places do charge for an extra person above two people but its not like they ever need to know we had 3 or more people in the room.

So I got the van reserved and my bike is all set ready to go. Just need to do some prep work before the track day.

I have reserved a U-haul single bike trailer for my bike to alleviate the possibility of three bikes not fitting in the van so that will hopefully simplify things a little.

I have to take the cage off the bike still and actually look it over.

If I don’t figure out the gear issue by the end of the week, I’m just going to rent it at the track.

GoPro’s are sitting on the computer however :thumb

Bryan (Neo) we have got to come up with a way to solid mount them.

I’ll also bring as many tools as I can in the little portable toolbox to make sure that it’s one issue we don’t have to deal with.

Bryan grab your stand, I’ll also give you the chain tool back.

How have you guys secured the oil filters? Safety wire or regular hose clamp?

K&N filters come with a safety wire hole already to make it easy.

I also recommend doing an oil change prior to event.

I may also bring some coolant just in case.

I will be bringing front and rear stands as well as basic tools for stuff like adjusting the chain. Why bother with coolant? just throw water in it if your low.

Have you reserved renting a suit? Seems like the number available are rather limited.

Oh wasn’t aware that suit is limited.

Did yours come in yet? If so I can check the sizing and order one too late on Sunday after I’m back from Lemona so I can have it in by the weekend.

Yeah mine is in, size 46. We are much different sizes and every suit man. sizes slightly different so I don’t know how much help trying mine on will be.

Idea of mounting camera: I’ve seen people fab a bar that fastens to the mirror attachment points, I think the trick is to make it strong enough to prevent vibration.

Sorry I don’t really have many tools that worth contributing. I will bring a gas container for spare fuel, water, coolant, zip ties, duct tape, chain lube, wd-40, dot 4 brake fluid and motor oil, bike ramp, tire patch kit.

Don’t think TTD requires wiring the filter, but that is probably a good idea. My filter is inside the bike.

Yours will give me a pretty good idea, or who knows maybe even be perfect, we are similar height.

Extra tools can’t ever hurt and I’d rather regret bringing something I didn’t use then not bringing aething I needed.

I’m going into how people have hard mounted it before and I I can’t come up with any results I’ll have Inline or Harold make me one before the day.

We should bring a ton of good food and plenty fluids.

Feeding and proper hydration should start the day before.

Water, fruits and powerade type drinks are good.

I should definitely look at the tires, brakes, and other parts or the bike seriously as I don’t have many miles on it to know for sure the condition as it is an 05 with few miles on it and original tires.

I forsee myself taking it to a local shop to put some tires I trust on it a day or two before. Not even going into an issue of whether the frame is straight :lol

I remember saving a good link of a beginner step by step bow to including what to bring.

On that note, remind me to grab masking tape.

I thought I posted this before but I guess not, if you guys need any specific tools let me know. Being a mechanic by trade I have a rather large assortment to choose from.
