G35 / G37 talk

so i have a deposit on my coupe and when it goes i’m going to look at a 05+ G35 coupe or a 08-09 G37 coupe for a DD.

i’ve never done any research on these cars really and i’d like to know what’s different underneath them.

Obviously the G37 has the 3.7 litre VQ but am i correct in assuming that all of the suspension is essentially the same? coilovers, suspension arms etc?

If i go with the G35 i’m going on sasha’s advice to get the 05+ with the rev-up motor but it also means i’ll have to do a brake upgrade to brembos or G37 brakes immediately since stock brakes is for fggts.

Forget the G35 and go G37. Interiors are 100% better.

you can get that out of exhaust mods alone… super gay.

im searching myg37 and all i see is crap posts from guys who’ve clearly never REALLY modified a car before… it feels like SON 9 years ago with guys getting Eibach springs on stock shocks and posting pictures like it’s cool to not know that stock shocks blow ass with lowering springs… who does that in 2011? jeez… yuppies suck.

apparently bilstein, tokico, Koni and KYB (AGX) don’t make stiffer dampers for the G37 yet and everyone is super clueless and running BC Racing coilovers on $30k cars… i just don’t get it.

I support this purchase. When my parents are done with theirs I plan to take it off their hands. Theirs is an 03 with brembo and 6 speed. Mmmmmm.

these are nice cars. Interior wise, G35s are the worst. the G37 interior is far nicer IMO. I do however wish that they both just had the 350Z interior tho.

I support the G37.

From what I have seen they are a good platform to work off of. The interiors, IMO, are preference. I actually like the G35 better. Not a fan of the screen.

I almost bought a G35. The only down side was the fact that it was not a V6.

The 2011 improves on the 2010 by a good amount too. Gone are the plastic toggle switches for the heated seats, replaced with nice metal dials. Much less exposed plastic & more wrapped in leather. And that ugly red center display is now white on black. And it’s one of the only cars I’d prefer with wood interior trim. It looks amazing. Much more attention to detail overall.

lol i agree with g37… but come on are you comparing a new interior design to an old one? REALLY PEOPLE?!? obv the new one will be better/nicer/more modern.

though i dont like either the g35 (own one) or the g37s center consoles that much…

oh yah what bing said… stock g35’s brakes are junk. LOL i feel like i never have enough stopping power for the amount of weight it has…

all in all, if your looking for a “better” vehicle… brakes… interior, engine, mods, looks…

There is no way i can agree with newer interior designs ‘obviously’ being better/nicer as i can think of many exceptions.

I think the G37 is just NICER overall, more baller. I’m sure Bing will go for that

IPL does only add a little bit more power but imo the body work over stock is better so there’s no money to waste there. Ditto on the better interior

i’m favouring a G35 just because saving $10k is more important than a nicer interior… but i can be patient with the buy if i need to.

remember dudes, i’ve got two kids and a stay at home wife to take care of… if i were single it wouldnt be an issue.

I’m bringing Ving with me today to look at a G35. he’s got hotwheels for both of these cars so i am involving him in the approval process.

anyone ever asked you to pit a kid seat in your car when test driving before?

looking for G35’s… i had an offer on one in Toronto, offered asking price, but needed it held for 2 weeks and it sold on me… booo…

want low mileage… okay if the car has some mods that i would do anyways…
