I haven’t really played much with initiating a drift other than power-over and weight transfer, e-brake is garbage on my car and clutch kicks tear shit up.
I i havent ever used the ebrake actually. With the v8 I mainly just manji or scandinavian flick since i dont have a clutch to upset the rear end.
Torque + 235/40 @ 50 psi = easy to breakloose
nice. i like to e-brake on slow sharp corners but long sweepers i just down shift and pin it. not that i’m good or anything don’t take this as i can kill off ramps or anything just learning 3rd gear road drifts shady as hell.
exactly.
it’s tough to commit to 60mph into a 40mph turn, which you really have to do to get a good slide.
just takes some brass ones is all, I haven’t built my nuts up enough to do it yet :rofl
highest speed corner I’ve taken was in an industrial park, entered in 3rd about 5k rpms (around 65-70), flicked it, didn’t get a crazy amount of angle or anything but it was my first drift in 3rd, didn’t spin but I tank slapped it pretty bad when the car settled out.
I have a nasty habit of letting off as the car’s re-gaining traction, which of course looks like crap and feels like crap.
yea i did the same thing when i took a right hand turn friday. the car just let out and i grabbed the wheel corrected it and the car yanked back into place. first time for everything just happy i didn’t stuff it into a ditch.
for the most part i stay into it linking back and forth until the tires stop sliding or i’m bouncing of the revs…revs come first lol
Yeah definitely, Steve(RB25) and I went out to my spot which has a great little s-turn for practicing linking them, helped me alot last year, got pretty confident with it, but like you said…2nd gear runs out of speed quick, hello rev limiter. :rofl
haha yea it sounds amazing!
I wouldn’t really be afraid to try 60mph initiation on a track with a car that was paid for.
But road= scared
car is still own $6000 on = scared
this too
Yeah my isurance company would be like
“OH HAI we see you have been driving this car on a track, WE see it has body Kitz and no factory airbag steering wheel. We see that we are not paying you a dime for wrecking it. Have a nice day”
I really don’t think they wouldn’t cover it for having a body kit and no airbag, and so long as it wasn’t on a race track at the time of the accident it shouldn’t make a difference, it’s your car, you pay em. What do they care what you do with it?
IDK i have heard that removing an airbag has caused a few people to lose coverage. The nice thing though is even though i removed that one airbag my airbag system still fully functions for all the other ones thanks to the worksbell hub.
i have no airbags 1991 and i paid $400 for the car. if i wreck i just have to stuff the rear end and save the motor!
but i would love to get an SC300 someday.
Vertex SC400 = WIN!
Yeah that little practice we had gave me a better feeling about my car and how it acts. This year though with the KAAZ Diff, new wheels, and suspension I’ll have to learn all over again!
Same here, but I’d rather not wreck it!
same here. i was just saying incase something happens i would rather save my motor then my taillights and exhaust
Is your 240 a SE? Because if it is, we have the same thing, I even paid $400 for mine, haha
