Getting out of Jury Duty

im in the same boat, last sept i couldnt do it because of school. Now I have a huge reset at work i have to do and be there for because i basically run my department.

Just don’t go.

What’s the worst that could happen?

umm are u serious?

big no no, not to just not show up, they will hunt you down

and take your first born

i rlly like my idea.

its not a “party”. it’s more of a meeting between important contacts/vendors/factories/clients. not to mention im hosting many people, and there was a lot of money spent to make this happen

say a similar case happened to you.

just be honest? last time I went that was good enough. If you haven’t delayed it before you can probably just call up and do that ahead of time… one of the most important duties in a democracy is jury duty, it’s ashame when people lie to get out of it.

Obviously joking.

This is just like those “I got a ticket in canada” threads.

BTW, you’re screwed now anyways, because with your number, the day is pretty much toast as is. I went with a somewhat low number, and was tied up until late afternoon before they decided not to choose me, or anyone else for that matter.

.

that doesn’t work anymore, the racist card. they got smart since everyone was doing it.

be gay then

lol yeah i had to reschedule cause i forgot about it, i had 1400, they rescheduled me with 21 or something

shit, good to know.

hit on the defendant?

lol i just sucked it up and spent 2 days on a trial, i wasnt happy but i got payed to be out of work.

Jury duty would be a nice break from work.

how soon did you start the trial from the original jury duty date?

i forgot an even bigger part of the equation. myself and another guy here are to drive out THAT night (JUNE 11TH) to a trade show up in lake george. we both HAVE to go because he is driving an ambulance and i’m driving a firetruck. im supposed to be there from june 12th-15th

UGHUGHUHUHGHHGHGHGHUUHUUGHH.

it started after they made me wait till the last minute b4 calling my number, i went in and the judge was like see you all tomorrow.

so basically i sat there for 8 hours only to be told i had to come back.

i think they do that shit on purpose to people who cancel or reschedule.

lol no drinking for you…

I did not have to serve a full trial. I went there the first day with a number of like 75 or something.

They tossed me up there with a bunch of others, askd all of us general questions relieved some, kept others, and that was the end of my day. I left there around 3pm. It was an attempted murder trial with the defendents being father and son pair.

They were found guilty a few months later, lol.

my number is 336 is that good or bad?
