Oh dude, there’s nobody more pro than this guy, I was trained by the same guy that trained K-Fed!

^^^ This is why I still read SON, even if I don’t have a 240sx anymore

Actual calipers on his Ferrari

Haha, baller! That’s gonna be me some day! Marry rich and use it to fund my vehicular escapades

Ill stick to grip. I havnt had much drift experience and the car is hardly up to par.

Wanna race? I challenge you to a drift race.[/quote]

It’s not about the car. It’s the driver. If you’re a good driver, you should be able to easily take me. I’m asian.

At the track sure…ill be out in a season or two. I wouldnt even bother street drifting against you or anyone…Ive just let the clutch out in 2nd gear at the begining of a turn doing 60-70 then flooring it getting reaally sideways through out the entire turn…but i see too many ways to #1 get in big trouble #2…end up in someones backyard or with busted car. You come out to any of the events? if so ill see you there then we’ll see whos teh next keiichi tsuchiya!

too bad no one would get what they were talking about cus everyones a ricermcdouche and ultimatly the article would lead to even more people with giant wings on their cars…

HAHAHA,

well actually i’d be very interested in a thread all about suspension, I’m reading through this thread, wow so much ass slapping back and forth, interesting stuff from sasha and a few other ppl though…

I’ve got kyb agx, stechs, whiteline bushings all around, new front control arms, and subframe spacer (i dun know how much that does if anything… it makes the rear hurt scarily… heh…). I’m running 3/4 front and 3/8 rear. 205/50/16 front and rear Goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3 tires…

Unfortunately for the time being I have an auto… and broken e-brake…

I got the 240 because its ‘affordable’ as a project car…(went from a 850$ as is car to a 10k$ car (parts, restoration, etc…)). My intent was to make a grip car… but sliding sure as hell seems fun…

I’d like to take the car to a track… or at least go some place where I can practice… I already wanted to honestly create a thread to ask questions suspension tuning/tweaking… some books that some may recommend as well.

I mean all I know is that a heavier front/stiffer front makes understeer, weight to the rear/stiffer rear makes oversteer… and then playing with the front and rear’s stiffness and weight accordingly. That a lower center of gravity helps with keeping the car planted better. That wider tires make a car more stable, wider track makes a car more planted. That’s as sophisticated as my knowledge of suspension tuning goes…

Anyways… just throwing in my 2 cents rants, I think a more serious and mature suspension thread would be good…

A few questions I have though.

-What and how much does the subframe spacer do? I got it and had it installed from the moment the car was restored…so I wouldn’t know how the car was without it.

-Wider track (wheels offset outwards) how much do they affect handling, as far as I know they would keep the car better planted due to wider stance?

lol ahmed,

i REALLY don’t have anything against you, but you have GOT to make your posts more concise. you’re always trailing off and in the end we have 3 pages of stuff to read

on a lighter note, if you wanna take your car to some drift days, talk to the guys over at driftnation, their events are the best for someone who is willing to learn, with instruction etc. etc.

A thread full of mental puke and shit talking.

schumi I’m at an event almost every 2nd weekend during summers. Anytime you want to have a time attack. I’m down, stock KA to stock KA. SOHC FTW.

a_ahmed, convert to 5-speed. Then worry about suspension. 5-speed swap is a day job, what are you waiting for?

You have to be pushing the car on the track to setup suspension, you can’t ask a general question on how to set it up. Its all preference, a little know how, and luck. You can hardly set it up in your driveway.

And as for theory, don’t ask a bunch of idiots on a forum. Go read suspension tuning books.

Andrew.

Or you could always ask schumi since he learned racing from paul tracy’s trainer and he’s like top 10 in canada for racing or something like that.
