PS. I dont know why, but I think that whoever stole this did some research on this specific car and knew about it before they did the deed.

In response, I don’t believe this is the case. I left the car in my mechanics parking lot over night, and during the night there was a break in to the lot next door to try and steal dump trucks. From what I have gathered so far it looked like a planned attempt at taking dump trucks, and then they saw the car and grabbed it. There may be an attempt at a law suit within a week or 2 if worst comes to worst…We’ll see…All your guys help is greatly appreciated…
It really doesn’t matter though…I just need this car back…I’m a mess.

its unfortunte to hear about this kinda thing but it happens and there is no way to be %100 safe… i remember a buddy of mine lumpy had a mint CRX that one a price for best in show(B18 turbo, orange paint, black hood. looked clean as hell.)
he took it to a car show and before he left he said… “this car will be stolen in the week” after he won he came back. not 3 days later the car was jacked out of his driveway… so these types of thieves are manly lookin to strip it or re-vin it(like in your case, they would buy a write off 180sx for $100 put ownership in thier name, jack your ride. have a pro swap the vins and bang they got a LEGAL 180sx to sell… all they gotta do is fake some recipts for body/mech work.)
