I have never been in this situation but I would really like to think I would leave a note. WTF is wrong with people
Also how is it that this happens ALL THE TIME!
My car was hit X-Mas eve!(in Amherst since that apparently matters)
GFs car was hit just a few weeks ago in a parking lot also in Amherst
Scumbags
Paulo Geico was a breeze for me to deal with. Sorry to hear about this man
Sorry… sorry. Just had too many personal experiences with Buffalo hit and runs. I know it can happen anywhere. It just seems like a far greater number of city residence use “park by feel”.
I try not to park on the street ever. In parking lots I avoid being that car parked all by itself and never take end spots at turnarounds or cut throughs.
This happened in front of my house. While Kaisertown is technically Buffalo, it’s not exactly ‘the city’. South Ogden street is an absolute shitshow, this is the 5th car to have been hit directily in front of the house and there have been a handful more within call it 10 houses in either direction.
I hate this area. I hate shithead drivers. For his sake I just hope all goes smoothly from here with getting it fixed up.
So any suggestions on good quality shops? Geico goes through Carruba and I’m not sure about their work.
I’d also like to have a third party do the work so that I can leave out a few items that made their way onto the estimate that I can take care of myself and offset the deductible. (i.e. buffing the wheel, buffing light scuffs, etc)
Also, just noticed that there are scuffs across the hood from the mirror and they put a gouge in the rear door glass/trim. Wtf…
Hey, do you play VBall Mondays at Holidays? One day, I noticed a car that looks just like yours showing up… with the same aftermarket wheels as my red '08
As for the damage, I actually got a knot in my stomach just reading and seeing those pictures Sorry to hear man.
As for the car PM me for a QUALITY repair shop with years of expierence and show winning jobs. take it corrub@ if you want a bad job and unmatching colors sprayed by kids getting $13 and hour.
Geico doesn’t seem to be too much of a hassle right now. I think they’re bad if you’re dealing with them from being hit by one of their clients, though. What place are you talking about?
+1. I had a small claim with them and it couldn’t have gone smoother even when I didn’t use the shop their recommended shop (Carruba). Just got my renewal bill 3 months after the claim and my rate actually went down $10.
Mom totaled her Rav4 with Geico and they were awesome. No lowballing, no fighting, just cut her a check for what the car was really worth (within $100 of KBB dealer retail), and added on money to cover NYS sales tax. She had the check in hand less than a week after the accident.
My brother in law’s car was backed into by a Geico driver (in Amherst, and they left info) and it too was painless. Took the car to Schmidts, left in a rental, never saw a bill.
I like how the wheels look, but they’re complete garbage. I’ve had to replace 3 already (total of 7 bought so far) and I have to replace these four on the car (11). They bent up quite easily last winter and this winter, simply hitting small potholes, these four are toast as well. I have a feeling that the RunFlat winter tires and the stiff sidewall is putting all of that energy directly to the rim
So… this summer, I think I’ll either switch wheels or buy the same ones in gunmetal. They’re relatively inexpensive, thankfully.
4 years ago on New Years… someone backed into my quarter panel on my Maxima. Luckly I was taking autobody at ECC and could fix it. They didnt stop.
Last year my buddies neighbor backed out of his driveway and right into the rear driverside door. Dented it all the way in so that I needed a new outter shell to the door. I lucked out I went outside just as it was happening. I had to sprint to the end of the road to catch the fucker as they were driving off. I made sure to hit his truck as hard as I could with my hand to get him to stop. He clammed he thought he hit the curb. (scumbag)
