I’m really confused why he’s getting pissed off at me… He’s decided twice now not to buy the car. Its been sitting all week ready for him to come get it and it was ready on saturday when we originally agreed he would pick it up.
Now I’m out of line for contacting another buyer since he gave me a deposit?
its like the damn twilight zone, this guy just doesn’t make sense to me right now… or maybe he does, maybe he realized he pissed me off too much when I was giving him such a killer deal and now he wishes he didn’t try and renegotiate with me a million times and instead just pickup the fucking car.
that’s messed up. i wouldn’t sell him the car because of all the bullshit, and i would keep the $200 for your loss. he sounds like this kid i was gonna buy a jeep from. i was test driving this kids jeep and we noticed a sound coming from the rear of the car. so i tried to mimic the movment again and the jeep died. we tried a bunch of things over a weeks time to get it started and it still wouldn’t start,so the kid tells me i owe him a $1000 for the jeep because it broke while i was test driving it in a flat bank parking lot. needless to say i didn’t call him back after he was gonna make me pay for a busted up jeep that wasn’t worth $600 to start. i wonder what would have happened if i bought it and then it broke down,would he have taken it back?

wow, sorry for the luck you have been having lately man, if i were you id just keep his deposit since a deposit is NON refundable and tell him to go f–koff, if you do s sell him the car make sure you print out a bill of sale with AS IS on it alot, cause he sounds like he,s gonna be a pain in the ass and if he cant get the car running right(even if he buys a motor) he’s gonna be harrassing you that its your fault…Goodluck man, if i knew anything about suby’s id jump all over that thing
its tough to find one good reliable place/business thats always consistent. this is why i always come back to the ones i found to be reliable and deal with the same people all the time. i know they wont fuck me over. sorry to hear about your situation man.

well the fucker decided that he wanted the car after all. When he called me said that he never said that he didn’t want the car (when actually he said it two different days on three different occasions.) But rather than making it look like I was backing out of the deal I let him have it.
800 bucks for a rolling shell plus a stock transmission with 20k on his end. A complete ripoff that I agreed to because I was completely desperate to sell something and to have one less car.
So this guy is gonna find the same engine I did for 600, fix a wheel bearing for a couple hundred, and clean up the paint to get himself a $7k car. Fantastic.
At least some guy is coming over to look at the blue one today, apparently he’s moved to the US from england and thought the car was a nearly stock STI… I explained to him it was all modded to nearly the UK spec STI but won’t ever have the reliability of an OEM car. He doesn’t seem to care. So hopefully my luck with come today.
Still need to sell the BMW, no one interested at all right now.
Awesome, The buyer of the red car somehow found this thread and is pissed at me, just handed me the print out of the entire thing and essentially said I’m an asshole.
the car was a total of $800 plus a low mileage transmission for the car with no seats. He then paid an additional $200 for the buddy club with wheels and tires.
This thread wasn’t targeted at john specifically but just to bitch about my terrible luck with people.
I am confident that the buyer got greedy when he landed the awesome deal for that car. Trying to leverage possibly buying the car or not on what extras I would throw in… the seats, stock wheels, etc etc.
When he somehow found this thread his attitude changed and he was willing to pickup the car immediately and denied ever saying he didn’t want the car.
If I’m wrong, then why so angry? I stood by the original deal and complained to people from another part of the state who don’t know you. I didn’t lie or welch nor was I rude to you.
Now back to the original idea of the thread I figure I should add in one more thing:
OK, I waited long enough. I’m out gas money and $500+ for taxes for registering the car to have plates to drive it back from boston (they don’t have temp plates)
I drove out 7 hours to boston to take a look at the car which had “1 cel for gas evap” and “7/10 paint” “no rust” and no problems that would prevent me from taking it on a 7 hour road trip home… after waiting for two days at the DMV to figure out how to get it back to NY with out a trailer.
I pull up and from the car I can see that the thing is the biggest pile of shit ever. front smashed in, 1" deep gouge out of the door rusting, imprint of a license plate on the back bumper…
I was about to hop in my car and drive all the way home but he convinced me to at least hop in and take it for a test drive. The interior was falling apart, the buckets were broken and wouldn’t slide forward for me to hit the clutch. Most of the lights were out, there were no wipers, and the speedo was broken. So I figured might as well put the thing to bed and “test” drive it to autozone to scan it. The car ran like absolute ass and when I asked why he said it has no O2 sensors on it!
Well the scan brought up 11 CELs (which confirmed no O2 sensors and more). Nothing was right on that car at all.
The BEST part when when all his friends rolled up, 2 EVOs with a bunch of carbon all over them and an S2000 with probably 25k worth of mods (imported mugen bumpers, deep RPF1 wheels, J’s racing hood, and hardtop) they hop out and go “are you going to buy it? Sweet car right?” …HAHAHAhahaha
my friend who drove out with me wants to go back and burn his house down.
oh, and I forgot. The car has over 100k miles on it according to carfax and the swapped motor has WAYYY more than 15k miles on it, 15k miles is how many the WRX cluster has on it.
