I dont hustle phones either man. I manage a sales channel. Sure, carrier stocked devices (read: phones/blackberry/WinMo/aircards) are a good amount of our business, but what I really like getting into are the non-stocked solutions/devices. Rugged handhelds like Symbol/Intermec, WWAN, like Digi/Cisco HWIC, embedded products like laptops (especially with the new Gobi chips), and AVL solutions.

Ingram is a great example of corporate greed and why I hate corporate America.
Ingram’s net profit last year was something like $140 million. Despite their surplus hey made tech support pay $5 per tech or $10 per family to attend their shitty picnic. How fcukin cheap can you be? How much is a picnic with burgers and shit for less than 100 people? They pulled that the last 2 years and management got pissed when I refused to go based on principal both times. I’m was never afraid of speaking my mind…not that it accomplished anything there. LOL
Also going back a few years…prior to their outsourcing many tech positions to the Philippines tech support was about 95% cost offset from vendor programs. They had the elite tech support team for free essentially. Yet some bean counter thought it was better to risk vendor backing and put people with VERY little tech knowledge and a language barrier in those positions. I damn near got fired for refusing to train the mannilionaires the mobile wireless stuff. I eventually gave in when I realied they wern’t fuckin around and would shitcan me that moment. I cited it being “unAmerican” as my reason for refusing and I stand by that, but a brotha has to eat.
I’m not just spouting cause I’m bitter about being raped last December by Ingram. I’ll have my day in court over that shit. These are things I ranted about daily to rattle the troops. LOL
