Inline Performacne takes the utmost care of customers cars. We value each and every car we work on. When this particular car came back with scratches we were hesitant to believe these were a result of the clutch job. We did not believe that they were present when the car left. When the customer came back in with the complaint we denied the scratches as a result of our work but because we valued this customer and his history with us we told him to stop back tomorrow and we would see what we could do about it…meaning we would take it to the body shop ourselves. The customer soon after leaving returned with a quote, we agreed to fix the paint and made an appointment for this coming Monday. Now I don’t believe handing cash out everytime their is a problem is an answer and as far as the physical violence threatend toward us here at Inline, I don’t believe was necessary. As far as the time line went, the car was dropped of late in the day and we started on it ASAP. We got the Flywheel to Dave Hunts as soon as possible but it took till late that day to get it back…leaving us with his car stuck on our lift…not much we could do about it. We Finished the car as soon as we got the flywheel back and got the customer rolling again. Their was not much we could have done to get his car back sooner unless the customer had dropped it off earlier in the day on Monday. The Plastic clips I have only to say were NOT present on all the plastic belly pans, we did what we could to distribute them out properly, they’re were several missing, no way to sugarcoat it. As far As other customers complaining about work we’ve done, ANY that have ever come back to us have been taken care of, EVEN WHEN IT WAS NOT OUR FAULT. unfortunately crappy clutches get crappy pedal feel and engagement.

-nah, the coming back part didnt come off like that at all. it mostly sounded like either they were too busy, they didnt want to deal with it, or they were just tryin to shrug me off.
-i never threatened physical violence. my original quote, i believe it was “ready to beat ass” was more of my feelings at the time. not literal. how would you feel if it happened to you?
-inline is open till 6 i think, I dropped my car off shortly after 10 i believe (so?)
-there were obviously little to no plastic clips missing before the clutch install began because my plastics and lip werent hanging down before that so whyd they stick them in place all gay and shit with no clips. most other shops would just throw clips in there because the clips arent expensive.
-the clutch that i purchased was the right price. i didnt have much cash at the time and the clutch that bought was a good price plus it got good reviews from what i saw so i went with it.

At the end of the day you got an upset costumer, which is the responsibility of the shop/business not to have, or at least take care of the issue and deal with it in-house instead of letting it drag on to the point where the customer will be upset enough to share the story on the internet about your business in a negative way.

big props to in-line for standing behind the car and stepping up to the plate to have it fixed regardless of who damaged the car.

I agree. It’s also a good idea to take before pics to avoid any customer claiming X was done. In this case, I have no idea who did what, just making a generalization.

i actually did this when my car got serivced at lia nissan in august. i took pics before it went into the bay. and then when i got it back 4 miles had been used when all i got was a free oil change from a coupon :shifty

whaaa? someone went joy ridin? lol… customer gave me permission to do that once in his BMW. I couldn’t thank him enough, holy shit… went from a 1.6l sohc non-vtec to that… I was alllll smiles.
