Correction:
We did some data logging today. New transmission to follow.

saw that comming… sorry guys… wish i wasn’t prophetic about that.

yup. at least it will all be taken care of in the end…

Well, if the tune from fuckface wasn’t garbage the tranny wouldn’t have gone… That’s what really pisses me off about the whole thing. Thank god FocusSport is good for a sweet tune! That trans was not in bad shape, but we should have gotten a good year out of it before it smoked.

Cant say for sure how long a stock trans will last at those power levels. As jammer here about trans issues…hes been through about 5 in the past 2 years!

Well from the owner’s point of view, I am disappointed but better to find out now then in Springfield, MA ( Halfway between home and work ). on the side of Rte 90. I did debate going the manual trans route this morning on my way to work until I hit Worcester which typically is 40 mins from work. It took me 2 hours to get to Worcester then nearly 4 hours to go the rest of the way at some points inches at a time. For my application I am stuck with the Automatic. It is what it is. For now J is looking for a stock trans. The question is do I go to Lentech / some other trans house for a built tranny or have J rebuild and beef up the old core? It would suck to have the ability to have the power and not be able to use it. Kinda like dating a porn star that has just decided to save herself for marriage.

I would seriously consider the 5spd, or even SVT 6spd swap. Im not completely sure if the 6spd will bolt up to your motor or not though. Or make the call to Lentech and have em build ya somethin silly!

Yeah my buddy put a whole bunch of mods on his a4 1.8t and the clutch was toast the same day…thing had like 80k on it, hasn’t been able to enjoy the mods yet :rofl

vince always has the funniest comparisons for things!!! hahah
listen to any good books lately vince?

New Alto High Performance trans rebuild kit coming soon to this project! Can’t wait to see what that kit does for the holding power of this car.

+1 and what a deal at around $200!!!

the 5 speed stock can handle levels of over 700 hp as proven by tom from www.focusfanatics.com, the atx automatic transmission can handle as much horsepower as you want but anything more then 200lbs of torque and itll die, i reasearch a lot on my car lol

personally id send the trans to Lentech and have it built, stalled, and throw a transbrake on it…but thats just me lol

hahah 3500 stall converter not drive able on the street but its sure is hell cool to launch, jk, but wagons are bad ass i like my hatch back though :).

Going manual is not an option due to where and how I need this car to drive. As for Lentech, it is purely economics that I am not going that route. With J doing the rebuild, I’ll accept the limitations but I know it will be far better than stock. Until then it is what it is and let’s hope the DOW climbs back over 8300.

So Good News on the Focus Project:

After nearly a week of searching and sourcing parts for the Focus we have gotten to the fun part! Unfortunately we were supposed to receive the rebuild last Wednesday, but Alto failed to notice the parts were to be drop shipped to us and not the distributor. That blew up that timeline for sure. But here’s where we stand:

Monday - All day event to remove the transmission because of the amount of crap that was stuck, or rusted together.

Tuesday - Transmission Rebuilt!

Wednesday - Transmission Reinstall, trans cooler install, turbo timer install, and testing and tuning fun!

Thursday - Project finished… or is it!

Stay tuned for more fun, kids!

Got the trans back Wednesday morning, began installing it, and got really busy!

We got it running tonight and it feels great! We added another transmission cooler into the mix and we’ll be finishing up the project tomorrow morning!

F2 USA is garbage. I feel that needs to be said at this particular juncture because they charged me back for the parts I sent back. BTW ,this may go without saying, i had asked for an RMA for the pile of crap that we had almost 2 months ago and never received one… Oh yeah I’ll have to post up the sorry excuse for installation instructions I got sent too, LOL! Not to mention I feel it is my duty to let you folks know how they conduct themselves and how badly their product FAILS. I hope that anyone who reads this will understand how terrible and ill conceived their products are after reading this.

The whole reason we had to rebuild this transmission is because of the failure of F2 USA to research and develop a product before they released it. We thought we were going to get a decent kit, in fact we still never received all of it 2 months after it arrive almost 1 month late… yes that 3 months of waiting and 2 months Vince had no vehicle. Wait… he still has no car because F2 cooked the transmission with their negligence. That means he’s been waiting for almost 4 months to get his vehicle back… sounds good, right?

That also means there was the cost of the installation of the kit, the damage to the transmission, the 4 months of waiting, and the cost to send the other fragmented kit back to F2ck up USA. Tell me if that was worth it. Yes I am upset and I can’t even lie about how terrible this company is. I have proof from day 1 at how BS this whole thing has been. No way in hell is this guy going to get away with this. The best part is, this is only 1 part of how bad F2ck up USA actually is. This officially marks nearly 1 year of F ups from them!

3500 converter is fine for street use.
