thats about to be changed!
No, because they’re not dumb enough to go to the track with a fucked car. Unless they’re PR.
ehhh if you want to run boost, its a better over all idea to just get a Iron block so under high pressure + heat, you dont hafto worry about any aluminum melting…
but pretty much compression holds it back from high numbers + reliability
About damn time. I feel like taking that car on Keeler’s Land Rover course every time I see it.
ANY car can blow up. He uses the car for delivering pizza and beating the shit out of. The car’s how old and has how many miles? Wear and tear can/will eventually take it’s toll on ANY motor.
a lot of times if you run the heads off of the 6.0 (lq9) and throw them on and you’ll lower the compression, but not by much, it would still be somewhere between 9:1to 10:1. No one runs real high boost on ls1’s because you would really need to throw in low compression piston and aftermarket heads to get the compression lower.
But the actual block itself limits at about 600WHP on stock internals?
not really sure, i no for a fact no one has ever broken the stock crank, but im not an f/i guy. I’ll look it up though
No one has broken the stock crank? That’s damn impressive.
i shouldnt said ever, its never been posted on ls1tech so some joe schmo could have
What about the pistons/block itself? 600WHP is under expectations given smaller displacement motors have done better.
I like your style
from what im reading most guys run up to 10 psi on a stock ls1, numbers vary depending on heads, cam, spray etc. i would say 750rwhp at the most though, most guys that run serious boost just pick up the 6.0 iron block anyways.
Different debate.
- How much boost pressure can it hold without modifications? Plaf said 20PSI-30PSI was not doable. Now, it’s 10?
- How much power can it hold without modifications? Heard 600 and now 750?
To me, I just prefer dealing with keeping it as simple as possible. Swapping in a new block changes the car but that’s just me.
i dont recall saying 600rwhp, you cant say a an exact number is where an ls1 is going to give up on, to many variables, most ls1’s that are boosted arent actually ls1’s, more lsx’s simply because ls1’s arent made for boost, so its not such an easy question to answer, and to be honest i dont even go into the f/i section on ls1tech
all i need for 600hp now is a bigger turbo and retune with c16… block SHOULD be good for 600-800awhp. do the math on hp/liter there.
stop it, just stop right now :nono
why, because your motor cant make that out of more than double the displacement without switching blocks? :nana
you should stay out of this thread… :nod
well unlike you i know that 600-800whp is just unrealistic and would not fit into my budget
