how can i make my 240sx faster w/o having to add ANY parts to it. things such as tuneups, oil changes? what will make it a little bit fastter than it alreadly is?
You can advance your timing and run higher octane gas, maybe hack your airbox, use a test pipe…
most thing u can do like he suggested are higher octain and advanced timing but these things will eventually take there toll on ur motor… and cause some strange problems over a short period of time… best thing if u wana get more is to spend alittle cash… had a buddy with a old ka24E tossed on a home made cold air intake and an msd ignition and that thing halled a$$. didnt cost em much eather… and it was really reliabe.
best advice is u get what u pay for. and if u dont pay now u will pay later… i know i am…
The motor is worthless without forced induction (aka Turbo). Seriously.
There is no aftermarket in terms of N/A, and you can do all you like but
chances of breaking close to 180rwhp to 200rwhp isn’t going to happen,
unless you know what you are doing.
Read, research, plan, get a turbo (or a turbo motor such as an SR). K. Thx.

Gonad, come talk to me in september… we’ll see how your figures match up to my new motor. $2500 on a NA KADE is much better than spending 5000 on a sr with same HP and less torque, and if you build it right, all you’ll need to do is swap the pistons to make it a turbo motor eventually.
Don’t forget cams and some sort of tuning to retard ignition timing. Turbos generally don’t like as much valve overlap as NA engines do, and you certainly can’t run advanced timing with any reasonable expectation of engine longevity. Also, NA engines like light valves. Turbo engines work better with heat-resistant ones.
high octane gas will work for me! haha. i have the money for upgrades but i have an auto which makes all my modding not worth it until get a 5 spd swap. i might buy like strut/sway bars and thats about it. not even suspension
if you’re looking for a tranny, i got 3 5spd’s here, all in quite good shape.
Just remember, running high octane gas without advancing timing will make you loose power. Just running highoctane is a waste, do yourself a favour and do some research
remove all emissinos components, who needs that crap
while ur at it throw some stones in each cylinder through the spark plug holes. They wont fit through teh valves so they will just bounce around in the cylinders, effectivly raising your compression!!!
Seriously - there isn’t much you can do, definatly nothing that will make the difference between running 16s or 15s.
right now, i’m running twin exhaust cams, no emmisions and a gutted cat. The TE37’s really help with acceleration aswell. Anyways even with the shitty clutch, it dust stock de’s all day long…What speed are you guys hitting in 3rd at redline…i seem to be hitting anywhere from 162-167…

heh, it’s a shame only 3 people ever drove in my old sohc, she was just 11:1 with a port and polish, and she flew. I can’t wait to get this one up and on the go, pulling out all the tricks this time…hopefully she lasts more than 3 days this time…

3days and i was 600km into breakin, i can show you the timing chain if yu like…it’s streched quite a bit, i shattered all the brandnew timing guides, and messed up a bearing. Ask bing what it sounded like after my 1 attempt at a drift…
As for time slips again nothing, what i can say is, upshifting or down it was shooting fire, i didn’t notice until my dad took it for a rip and i followed in the van.

HKS wastegate actuator = 55usd and then you run low 13s
I know NA can be fast, but its so much nicer to just be able to turn up the
boost.

just turning up the boost, riight, dont forrget about all the little expensive things you need to do that. I’m not against turbo or anything, but high HP NA will always be better than a turbo with same power.
