Must Read Traffic Story. ISO: Good Lawyer.

That’s why I said usually. But yea, twice at a stop sign. Once prior, then once past to check for traffic. 'Cause TYPICALLY where you stop for stop signs you can’t see clearly in both directions thats why its required for two stops.

Mmmm you got pulled over by officer JJ aka sock. He’s actually pretty cool if you don’t drive like a moron. He pulled me over like 4 or 5 times for tint and exhaust and said have a good night, sorry for the trouble each time. Moral of the story…GPD will cut you slack unless you outrageously provoke them…especially sock…even tho he’s been guarding guilderland’s streets for 5 years he’s still technically a rookie and out for blood. Western ave in g-land is no place to be driving aggressively in a souped up gto. The speed limit is 40 mph, you can get away with 55-65mph with a delivery sign on your car…beyond that tho…you’re just beggin for trouble. Remember tho, that strip is not only patrolled by GPD, it is also detailed by state troopers and albany county sheriffs on a daily/nightly basis…if you act out, you’re almost guaranteed to get busted.

Swift, my lawyer has given me many a good deal and allowed me to keep my liscence. Ive had 15+ tickets and have 3pts on my record. Let me knwo if you want his #, he knows ALOT of people.

Thank you for these words of wisdom. I live in G-land and the whole place is a giant speedtrap. I have never driven from one place to another without seeing at least one cop car. The GPD are pretty cool but they do have a few pricks. The state poopers and Albany county sheriffs are the worst tho. Also, Mazzone wrote me for a 43 in a 30 and a failure to signal last year when I had my Audi. That was when none of my gauges worked lol. Stupid VW/Audi electrical failures.

VW/Audi electrical systems FTMFL. :idiots

i talked to a guy i know in GPD, i’m gonna go to my court date and plea not guilty… he’s gonna come with me and see what he can do. If its not good enough i’ll be lookin for a lawyer for sure. thanks i’ll let you know the progress. Can’t hurt to try and save money and see if this guy can pull a favor for free.

Swifty I looked into the matter for you and unfortunately when he gave you equipment violation tickets for the car that doesn’t belong to you, he is still well in his territory.

It was your responsibility to see if the car had any illegal modifications to it before getting behind the wheel, in the eye of law.

Just like driving somebody else’s car that is uninspected, you would get the inspection ticket, not the owner.

Damn, Swift. Thats a sticky mess. Good luck with this. It seems like a tough situation. I think if you were an older guy, like 55, ud have gotten maybe 1-2 tickets at most.

:idiots This was his idea? If you go and plea not guilty they give you a date for trial. If you want to plead not guilty just mail in the ticket(s) with not guilty checked off and that you do not need a supporting deposition. If someone told you to goto court just to plea they obviously don’t know the workings of our fine judicial system. He can contact the officer that wrote you the ticket once the court date is set and see if the officer will agree to go to the DA and ask for a reduction in charges (you can no longer talk to the DA, only the officer and your attorney) and at that point it is up to the DA and not the officer as to what your charges will be. The new laws for traffic violations have made it significantly more difficult these days.

Day late and dollar short…

This man knows and he is right.

can’t mail in the tickets, one is a misdemeanor, which i have to show up in person for. And the night i show up, is ONLY for my plea. Either guilty or not guilty. Obviously i will say NOT guilty to all, and get a court date. That night the guy i’m going with is going to talk to the DA because he is a GPD officer, and a personal friend of his. If he can work something out for me, i will probably take the deal, if not i will get a lawyer, and go to court.

Not if he declined asking for the supporting deposition.

You NEVER EVER want to ask the arresting/ticketing officer for a supporting deposition. The supporting deposition is a shit load of unnecessary paperwork for the officer and he essentially types out the events that occurred when he/she ticketed you. Which makes the aforementioned officer even more pissed because lets be honest, who wants to deal with paperwork? A supporting deposition is NEVER recommended for traffic tickets because most officers don’t love traffic duty to begin with and when they get saddled w/ sup dep’s to write all day, they want to beat someone down. I don’t know how many times you’ve been ticketed or how much time you’ve spent in court, but you’ve been mislead if anyone told you they’re a swell thing to request.

The supportin deposition trick is supposed to work if they don’t do it and it gets dropped. Hell, I’ve gotten the supporting deposition typed via a trooper at the time a ticket was given to me.

It’s a waste of time.

Best bet is to deal with DA and ask for reduction if possible.

Swift: misdemeanor? Good Lord. I doubt you will get any good deal here without a lawyer. :frowning:

yeah… the wreckless driving. sucks

Even a Russian knows better :headbang :tong

Swifty. Get a lawyer.

A bit over a year ago I got arrested on the side of 890 (put me in cuffs as well, made me sit/lean on my hood) for AUO in the 3rd, Driving on a suspended registration, and 80mph in a 55mph zone. After having my lawyer take care of it, I ended up with just a failure to obey a traffic control device (2 or 3pts) and $360 in fines total.

Heres the person nicole was talking about. Jean Horan 783-6049, cant explain how many times she has gotten everyone i know out of trouble for CHEAP! Worth a call im sure she can help you out. Just an example of my latest ticket. 85 in a 55, charged me $75 and it was reduced to avoiding a traffic device or something.
