I understand exactly what standing point your coming from, however, my situation was slightly different, in a most effecting way.

Yes, I got the motor for free, and WAS going to put my own money into it, etc. Someone came to me, looking for a motor, at the same point in time at which my tuition fee was arising. Now, although OSAP is readily available it does take a couple months if not more to go through. Before hand, I had money. School tuition wasn’t a worry for me, but I’m sure many are aware of things that can, and will happen, and unfortunately for me, they did. I’m not going to get into complete detail with that seeing as how its personal, however, OSAP to me was not available. My father makes to good of an income, I’ve applied for OSAP numerous amounts of times, and have been declined at least 4 times so far. My parents are hard on making me do things for myself, and I accept that, so I have. I just paid of school for this semester, and still need to find another $1800 for my summer semester, and with no job…well, its not easy.

Someone came to me who needed a motor, knowing I had one. My full intention was to use it, and had even been searching around at that point for a coupe, you can ask any of my closer friends. However, like I said, shit happens, and it defiantly caught my off guard. There was no intention to willingly make money of of Bryan with the free block I picked up, nor did I want to, but when someone offers you $300 for something you can put on hold for a while, and your stuck in a situation where you need that $300 to help fund your future…well, in my opinion, if I was Bryan, and Bryan was myself, I’d embrace it.

I’m not one for making shiesty deals or ripping people off, I mean c’mon look at my FS threads, I want whats somethings worth, not 10X more because its “JDM”. Like I said before, I completely respect Bryan, have and will be trying to get a hold of him, but in the meantime, you have to realize my situation. Shit, if I wasn’t at gunpoint for tuition, you think I’d get rid of that block? Hell no! That would be getting rebuilt as we speak, and than put into another car for myself. I hate living pay cheque to pay cheque, but even right now I CAN’T even do that…

I’m not asking for sympathy, I’m asking for everyone to understand my situation and respect it, and at that point understand why I did what I did, not to make money of a great guy.

Knowing the further details, I can understand why he would sell the motor/head or whatever it was. Unforseen circumstances come your way and you need to do what’s best.

I definitely respect you coming forward and telling everyone this. Takes courage to do so. I hope farmer realizes that too, which he would since he’s pretty cool.

samson has a point. just as an example a few snow storms ago. i went to a friends house (RR32GTRR). me being the broke ass that i was, was running my familys van near empty before i even try to put in little gas. so while me and him were on our way to walmart to look at snow blowers for his driveway. i ran out of gas and get stuck at a really bad spot. too far to work to any gas station and too far from his house to walk back. not to mention none of us had phones with us because we didnt think we’d be out too long. so we kept trying to figure out what to do. finally after 20 minutes we decide to approach this guy shoveling his driveway to see if he can helps us out. without even flinching he says “sure, just let me finish this quickly and i’ll grab the keys to my car.”. needless to say i was speechless. as a good gesture my friend offered to finish shoveling his driveway while we go grab gas at the nearest station.

while on our way there we start talking and i keep saying thank you so much. he replies by saying its nothing i wouldnt have done for anyone else. i find out im the 5th person he helped out that day. one of them even got his mercedes stuck in parking lot and he helped that stranger get his car out of the snow. the guy even offered him $100 as thanks for helping him but he politely declined. so after getting gas and filling up the van with enough gas to get out of there. we go to walmart. on our way back we saw this dad and his teenage son trying to get their car in there driveway. but they got stuck and were blocking the road partially. lots of cars passed by then when we passed we just decided to turn around and help the person. seeing as how a good samaritan helped us out earlier. needless to say with our help it took less than 5 minutes to get the car unstuck and on their driveway. if that good samaritan didnt help us. chances are we wouldnt have stopped to help that dad get his car unstuck. it just goes to show that you never know when you’re gonna need help and when something as simple as helping someone out might have a bigger ripple effect than you imagined. if we all try to pass on the favor to someone else the world would be a better place.

as far as martino’s situation. i can somewhat relate to him. im currently drowning in debt, jobless, and struggling daily. however in his position i wouldn’t have sold the motor right away. i would’ve talked to farmer first and talk to him about selling it for him and most likely giving him money for the motor. but if anything martino is doing it for his studies. its not like hes using the money for drugs, alcohol or anything else. martino is man enough to actually step up and do the right thing by talking to farmer about it. everyone does desperate things when backed up against a wall. but it shows a lot about his character that he’s willing to fix the situation with farmer.

as for people stealing thats a whole different situation. stealing is stealing regardless of what the reason was.

But you know what your right in every way. I SHOULD have spoken to Bryan about the situation, however, I know for a fact he doesn’t know the whole story. The person who told him about this didn’t explain it, nor does he really know.

Broken telephone or someone who shouldn’t be involved, makes things worse.

Again, I’m still trying to get a hold of Bryan.

given the fact that im in a much worse position than you helps me seeing your side of the story. like i said earlier sometimes you do desperate things when you’re backed up against the wall. i’ve done a few mistakes myself which is how i learned how to cope with situations like this. its always better when people that shouldn’t be involved, don’t get involved. that always makes things worse. again, good on you for manning up to the situation. i would’ve thought that given your real name being MARTINA that you wouldn’t man up. HAHAHAHA

I think people aren’t getting the real point of my posts.

My posts aren’t directed directly at Farmer. My posts are there to say “Why is everyone so surprised that people take advantage of a nice person?”

It doesn’t surprise me. I’m not justifying shit. I know Brian, he’s helped me, and I help others as much as I can. Heck, yesterday I lent out my car to a buddy who needed to do something important, twice.

However, DoneDreamin’ - if I was dumb enough to let some stranger (and by that I mean, barely know you as a person) take my car somewhere or even have my car stolen period - I would be PISSED right off (as Brian I’m sure is) but I wouldn’t be super surprised. Sometimes when I forget to lock my doors I immediately check to see if something was stolen.

I’m not saying shit happens because I’m trying to defend/justify those who stole or otherwise. I’m saying shit happens because… Well it does. I’ve been mugged just walking down the street and I’ve left stuff in places and never gotten it back.

I don’t get how so much misunderstanding came out of what I’m trying to say. Possibly the fact that everyone subconsciously thinks people are existing to cause shit?

I think what he’s more mad about is the fact that people wanted things from him for free with the intention to sell them for profit and never using them at all. That’s just wrong. However, if you at least have plans to use it and never get around to doing that and you need money, that’s more acceptable.

I think that Farmer may have just gotten pissed off from people go above and beyond.

Picking up his stuff for free, and then telling him that HE has to pay THEM money for

their troubles. Its like a new version of low balling… some would even go as far as

calling it a hybrid.

And because of this, and other small things leading up, im asuming that it was just a

series of unfortunate events. One thing after another, causing this rant to be created.

Honest, everyone needs to get off of Martino’s back about selling the SR head, and all

this other talk about buying items and flipping them.

What’s done is done. As soon as you buy something, its YOURS. There is no illegal obligation with selling it right away.

Sure it seems asshole-ish. But thats how the world works. Morals, or not. (regardless of

Martino’s situation).

We should be getting back on track, figuring out who had the nerve to not only take

advantage of Farmer, but to go as far as stealing items from him, maybe even things

that he actually NEEDED, and had NO intention of selling or giving away.

So as a word of advice from a jr. member;

If everyone wants SON to be such a better place and community, maybe we should all

try a bit harder and stay on topic instead of dicking around, and causing all of this extra

un-neccessary drama.

i gave a car to my cousin once for free. he needed one and i had just bought a new one so i just gave it to him. a year later he got another car and was asked if he would sell the car to a mutual friend. he calls me and says to me he did not feel right selling the car after it was given to him for nothing. he asked me if i wanted the car back first before telling our friend anything. in the end he GAVE the car away to our friend. now my cousin is my boy and i was not suprised when he called me about this, if this was just some guy or an aquatance then i would not expect or care if he called me or not.

if a guy gives away something for free cause he does not need it or want it anymore then the person that he gives it to can do what ever they want with it. if your trying to help somone out by giving them something they need is another matter.

I think anyone in Martino’s situation would have admitted to doing it given the situation.

I’m just saying it isn’t super fantastic and almighty for him to come out and say that when i think anyone would have came out and told it like it was if they were in that situation.

We are just giving him credit, and encouraging others to do so in the future, if

not try their best in order to avoid future issues that may arise from
