and il get the best buy extended warenty too since their warrenty kicks ass

there are going to be a ton of people that come into this thread and say “screw a mac” and i will say it along with them. What exactly are you using this computer for? and a low end machine like the toshiba is already obsolete…

wel i dont do video editing anymore since i made posimadness DVD so basically just excell spread sheets and word documents everyonce in a while but mainly internet/you tube and music like winamp

just got the girl a sattelite and she loves it good to hear they last

well if thats all your doing now and all you plan on doing for some time then it’s not a bad bargain for what you need

thats a great deal on the toshiba… 2gb, turion dual core 64 bit for 600 bux Id say go for it…

My vote is for the macbook.

Best money I have ever spent on a computer.

this seems to be the winner !

Way overkill for all you’re using a computer for, yet it is your money in the end.

That is an awesome Laptop…

Mine is a Macbook Black, Core 2 duo 2.0GHz, 2GB DDR2 Ram, 120GB HDD, i bought it over a year ago… love it…

Never was a mac user before that, shit i am a windows system administrator, and after 15 years of windows, i wanted something different, and i love OSX now…

I dual boot via bootcamp with windows XP, so that i can still use HPTuners to write tunes to my car, but that is about all i use it for now outside of work.

I got a Toshiba Satellite for $400 from Circuit City after rebate. It’s not the fastest thing in the world, but it’s got an HD widescreen display and Vista, with a bump in Ram to 2GB it should cruise a little better.

I wouldn’t buy anything from Best Buy. They’re in direct competition with Circuit City and I usually find their prices are higher.

on second thought…who do you work for? see if they get a discount with select suppliers

MY advice would be buy the macbook from an apple store, or i would say compusa but they are all but gone now, and buy applecare over best buy’s crap.

AppleCare was fantastic to me with the only issue i ever had, one day at the Norwin hills cruise i whipped my laptop out to fix a tune issue, and my battery was 100%, i plugged it in, and OSX said no battery detected.

So i called applecare on monday, was connected with a native english speaker within 2 minutes, another 2 minutes later he assured me i would have a new battery the next day… Sure enough a new battery was at my door at 8am.

buy an HP

I would never spend my own money on a computer that was not an hp, laptop or desktop.

HP are just okay and toshiba’s hard drives suck big time!

I like my Vaio

nobody likes dell huh?

buy the best gateway you can afford.

i have two flawless gateway laptops, and love them like a fat kid loves cake.

i’ve had zero hardware failure since i first started buying gateways in high school.

In the end, you’re getting the same crap in a different plastic case. It all depends on what you’re willing to pay for that same crap.

If all you do is as you listed above, and you don’t plan on changing that, by all means, that Toshiba will suite you nicely.

dell fucking blows, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone except darkstar.
