Need a little help

You should be choosing the best looking beginner bike then.

Eh idk, i am very responsible and am very well aware of my limits, not 18(no offense to anyone) and have a level head. I just want something that will scare the shit outta me on a long ass straightaways lol. Im not going to be one of those guys hitting corners hard and doing wheelies all the time. Just want a fast bike and the 1000 status lol. Well see what actually happens though. Like i said i might pick up my buddies used 600.

some of us have level heads, so in that respect i see where your coming from, when getting a bike i didnt want to get a 1000 because I thought they were to big/heavy for me and i would drop one… but nah they aint no bigger than a 600 at least not mine…

1000 status… sure i guess, no one respects me for it, they are either jealous or telling me im gonna die, or telling me how glad they have a 600 for (i think its just 90% jealous)

So some advice if you get a 1000 dont go around telling its a 1000 unless they ask you because its like bragging i guess… I took the R1 sticks off my bike so it looks like an R6 now

new gsxr600 or R6 or cbr600 ( at least i think havent seen them) will def shit you on the straights… if 170+ isnt enough … your NOT level headed … period

also becareful as hell with some of them 600’s you think they are slow and get up to like 10 grand it just rips outta no where, i rode my friends 07 R6 today was slow until aroud 8-11 grand dont remember exactly and then it just ripped outta no where and shot down the straight totally by surprise…

ust be careful and make sure the bike you get has a powerband your into…

I like my bike because it rips like that from 4k rpm and gets even crazy from there… this R6 was fast but stupid fast when it got to the higher rpms, like a turbo or something

+1 to what vlad and singh said.
I took a 636 for a spin today, and I admit, I was afraid to take it past 7 grand.
granted, it was a curvy neighborhood road, and I didn’t want to launch myself through someone’s house, but that thing accelerates like a mother.
modern 600, unless you’re a pro racer, will have ample power to keep you entertained for many many years.
myself, I’m glad I didn’t start on one, most likely would’ve totaled it and hurt myself in the process.
power-wise, I think I’ll be plenty happy on an sv650 for the next few years, it would take a while to outgrow that bike.

Buy Matt’s 600. It’s fast as fawk and it’s loud as fawk.

you wanna go on two wheels and you wrecked your knee on 4 wheels :crackup :idiots jk jk go for a 600 man ull love it im 242lb and the gfs 600 f41 and gsxr 600 go just fine with me on it.

Never heard anybody say that before ::slight_smile: Nobody in their right mind goes out to buy the bike and says “Hell I’m irresponsible and I don’t know what the hell I’m doing so hey! I’ll buy myself a sport bike” You’re not differentiating yourself from the crowed by saying that, you’re only reinforcing the stereotype of you not knowing what exactly you’re getting yourself into.

Aware of your limits? Obviously not because you’re not limiting yourself in size and going for the biggest and baddest out there (I’m not counting 'Busa and Zx14 because those are a whole another category high way queens).

Level headed is the one thing I do not see. You’re an auto enthusiast, drag racer non the less who builds his car to go faster, so obviously you have speed in your blood, that makes you very non level headed especially when you consider the street racing aspect. Level headed people don’t buy 1000’s to learn on.

Buy a turbo Honda.

True bikers buy bikes to hit corners, posers buy bikes to go fast in a straight line and they usually buy 'Busas. Any idiot can get on any bike, stumble his way to an open highway and twist the throttle wide open, that requires no skill, literally NO skill, the faster you go the more stable the bike gets.

What do you mean by wheelies all the time? You mean you will do it some of the time? And before you say “no” keep in mind that new 1000’s will bring up their wheel in the first 3 gears just by getting on the throttle and the first revs to ~105mph at ~12K Rmp’s redline. To put that into perspective you will not be going to go WOT safely unless you’re in 3rd or 4th at which point you will be going well over any posted speed limit.

Every bike is a fast bike, Ninja250 is faster then most cars on the road. The status of 1000cc? You will get no respect from bikers because you have the biggest and baddest machine out there and can’t keep up with anybody on a back road cruise and your chicken strips are so big they make KFC jealous. Obviously you’re not looking for respect from the biker crowd, so just put 1000cc stickers on any 600cc supersport and nobody in the world will know the difference, all the girls will think you’re badass and all the car crowd guys will give you that “respect” you are looking for. Remember to mention it next time when people offer you to race for pink slips.

I know many experienced riders that don’t like 1000’s or once riding and owning them sell them to back to 600cc. They are lighter, more nimble typically faster in corners and much more fun all around. You can actually get on a throttle hard mid turn and not have you front wheel come off the ground as you’re leaning over in the apex.

With that said there are very few people out there that can reach the true potential of a 600cc supersport and there are probably a dozen people in the entire U.S. that can actually ride a liter bike to it’s limits, my bets are you are not one of them.

So why again are you so settled on a 1000cc?

With that said, I don’t even recommend people starting on 600cc supersports.

Few things, just because i built a car to go fast doesnt mean im not level headed. I usually race at the track or evry once in awhile on the street in a more controlled enviornment when there are no cars/people out. I dont really care about other riders being like omg hes awesome, just like what i like and yes, i am addicted to speed. So the bike will probably get lowered and streched and see the drag stri[p quite often. I like corners but im not going to be one of these idiots you see blasting into a corner at 120 on the street and hitting a damn truck or somethin.

Oh jay, more than likely im gonna buy matts, its a pretty good deal and he takes care of his shit.

Singh, i rode my budies R6, it had nothing till 11500-12000 then pulled like a freight train till 17500 or so.

Like i said, im looking for opinions, not insults to me or my level headedness. But thanks for all the inputs guys.

dont buy a bike just ride the wheeler around, throw a hazard triangle on it and fly it.most of the rotterdam cops cant drive after 9 anyways so well go night riding. :banana

I used to do that alot before i fucked my leg up. Once im all good ill take ya up on that though. I had to ride the line to highbridge, cross over it and take the tracks by the gas staion lol, fun ride at 60+ :banana

well tape that gimp leg of yours on the peg and lets go. you better gear that thing cause 60 is boring the blaster is gear like a street bike :runaway i got the truck and a trailer so if you wanna save gas we can load them up and im sure hank will let us park near his shop.

dont like the street ridin?? I was looking to gear it, it maxes out at about 70-75ish if i were to guess. I wanna get the full exhaust, filter, jet it, and i found a nasty nitrous kit for it ;D

i enjoy the crf50 for the street riding more. you still talk to your friend with the vw i ran a few years back? i got the spray almost done and i wanna find a few cars that are simiar to the weon .

I think you thinking about tom, hes got a sti now and just moved to georgia. I wanna get a streched swingarm and road tires, then ill run ya on the quad! :tong

no not tom i know who tom is the other kid there that had the built 1.8t that i ruined his dreams when the neon got him by 3 car lengths. i think his name is greg.

:crackup Yea greg smith, hes got a passat now, super gay-like

oh man a passat :headbang :crackup

Yea, hey what year is your gf’s gsxr?

her honda is a 2002 and the gsxr is a 2005
